FME: 1.1.1[1.1]

The DocTARDIS materialised in a large, basic, largely bare vault chamber typical of TechVaults. It was bland, it was hard, it was unwelcoming but it was clean. A VaultTech 3Dposter was a falsely cheer propaganda piece with Vaultboy standing with Vaultgirl. Beneath them, in English, were the words ALWAYS OBEY THE OVERSEERS; THEY ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST AT HEART.

About five seconds later the blue police box like door swung open and out stepped the Timelord known universally as the Doctor. He stood in a black synthetic leather jack, a black denim cap, denim jeans and hiking boots. He was frowning softly as he looked around and swung his sonic screwdriver towards the poster. His curious dark glasses flashed very briefly with blue light.

"This does not look like the Cooling Deserts of Savaka III! Horrible public relations rubbish by the look of it." He turned further around to see three upright metal lockers, each firmly closed but apparently not locked. "Those are worth taking a look at."

Suzanne, his granddaughter, stepped out of the DocTARDIS in a jumpsuit dotted with many pockets and pouch-pockets. She was also a Timelord but, unlike her grandfather, had just recently graduated from the Timelord Academy on Gallifrey. She adjusted her own unusual dark glasses which were, like those of the Doctor, far more than what they seemed to be.

"No, grandfather, we are clearly not in the Cooling Deserts of Savaka III but this place looks to be most interesting." She turned to see a metal plague, on one wall, that read. 'TechVault101 Subvault101/12'. "Looks like we are in some place called TechVault101, that is is Subvault101/12 of ServoVault101 of TechVault101."

Which was when the muffled noises of gunfire came to the pair of them. Both Timelords frowned softly. Then, with a shimmer, they cloaked themselves, becoming invisible.

FME: 1.2.1[2.1]

Seconds later a young man ran into the chamber, in a blue jumpsuit like the one that the cartoon Vaultboy was wearing on the 3Dposter. He was carrying a bolt-action carbine that did not seem to be very big or powerful. A tag, on the upper left of his chest, stated that he was Benjamin Osada CIN 323T/234T/987N. The young brown haired, lighter brown skinned man, stopped and stared at the DocTARDIS in understandable astonishment. Then he turned and went to the metal lockers, opening one up and taking out a box of cartridges. Soon he was quickly, efficiently, reloading his fairly primitive but efficient weapon.

A young woman, very attractive and slimly voluptuous-muscular as he was slimly muscular, raced in holding a larger, more powerful looking bolt-action rifle. She was white but lightly tanned, or so it seemed, with dark blonde hair and deep blue eyes. She was one Jasmine Anderson CIN 230K/679B/435U and she spoke in a husky, warm, voice. "More radroaches are coming and they are bigger, meaner, than before. How many cartridges are left?"

Benjamin cursed softly. "This is our last box of SCC (standard carbine calibre) ammo but there are some loose, standard cartridges that your rifle could use."

A single wheeled robot shot into the chamber. It was odd shaped with its body expanding outwards, squarish fashion, as it went upwards. It had was, according to some writing, Claptrap 4734 Experimental #21A. It was waving its arms excitedly and spoke in a mildly annoying voice as far as the Timelords were concerned. "Oh no, oh no, radroaches give me the chilly chills."

Benjamin frowned softly. "ElectricFred, everything gives you the chilly chills. Where are the others?"

ElectricFred kind of jumped up and down on its wheel. "They ran away, kind of, shooting as they went. Arnold told me to come and find you. Karina is almost out of arrows and cartridges are getting low. They will have to rely on those stabspears, electric shockprods and that spray stuff."

Jasmine smiled warmly at the claptrap robot. "You have done very well, ElectricFred."

This compliment caused the odd little robot to jump up and down on its wheel. "Very goodly good!"

FME: 1.3.1[3.1]

Jasmine turned and looked directly at the two Timelords. "Who are you? Does that funny police telephone box belong to you. I can just kind of see you so you must be using some kind of cloaking device."

With a soft shimmering the Timelords revealed themselves. The young man gave a small, startled, jump and the claptrap robot rolled backwards waving its arms wildly.

The Doctor grave a short, graceful, bow and then spoke in fluent English. "It is quite amazing that you could see us with your eyes or was it just with your eyes? My name is Doctor Who but you may called me the 'Doctor'. Can we be of assistance against these radroaches, what ever they are?"

Jasmine looked calmly at the two. "Do you have spare guns, cartridges or any other weapons to use against oversized radiation-FEV mutated cockroaches?"

The Doctor sighed. "This is my granddaughter, Suzanne. We are both Timelords. We could help in other ways. I hear a scuttling noise and it is getting louder. Perhaps if we investigate what is going on we can find a longer term, more peaceful, solution."

Suzanne took out her sonicwand. "Can you not ask your people for assistance?"

Jasmine frowned softly. "No, not really. We are all on punishment duty being Exterminators and the Overseers are not too keen in giving us... well, not too much of anything very useful. Your police telephone box, if that is what it really is, is not very large but you must have something of value in it."

The Doctor smiled. "I suggest we all go into the 'police telephone box' to see what we can find. It is much stronger than it looks. It is not really made of wood. The mimicry system went bad and got stuck on that appearance."

Jasmine shrugged. "Okay! It is worth a try but don't do anything foolish."

The Doctor smiled. "I promise to do my best not to do anything foolish."

FME: 1.4.1[4.1]

The chamber was, in appearance, the wooden interior of a blue police telephone box accept for some odd details.

There was a boxy, vaguely Victorian English appearing, console of what looked like oak, iron, crystal and glass. It was melded into one wall or at least seemed to be. It had a keyboard, a separate keypad, an oddly mirror like square screen, a chute-tray and some other interesting features.

There was a polished, plastic like, upright, locker next to the console that had one door.

Light came from a dome shaped fixture on the center of the ceiling.

The other oddities were the small, slim wooden door next to the console and the other two double doors that looked identical to the double doors that led to the outside. These were opposite the entrance-exit door and opposite the console wall that was to the left as one entered the DocTARDIS.

Jasmine frowned. "From outside I saw no door on the side, just the front, of the police box."

She noticed the bigger, mirror like screens, being one on each of the insides of the double doors that they had come through to get into the chamber. "Mirrors that do not have reverse reflections and they show views of the outside that keep changing like there are invisible 3Dcameras out there."

The Claptrap hummed to itself nervously and staid close to Jasmine. Benjamin looked eager to touch something that he should not touch. Jasmine smiled at Benjamin in such a manner that he decided to keep his hands to himself.

The Doctor nodded. "The Entrance Chamber Scannator does have its limits but it is very useful. Aaahhh, those are radroaches. Most are fairly large and some are very large but I have seen much larger and more dangerous transformed cockroaches. Hatched from eggs or transformed?"

Jasmine shrugged. "Hatched from radroach egg clusters as they normally are."

The big radroaches scuttled along the hallway, just outside the chamber, and behind them came the much bigger ones that had odd purple blotch marks on their bodies.

Suzanne spoke with a tone of curiosity. "Those bigger radroaches have the purple markings but also other noticeable differences from the smaller radroaches. The purple splotch marks are the most noticeable variations but there are others. Notice the mandibles that look oversized for them unlike the more normal ratio sized mandibles of the smaller radroaches."

The Doctor was busy at the odd console and was running his fingers over the keypad with amazing speed and dexterity. Odd symbols flashed over the non reversed mirror like screen. Then he was speaking even as he continued to work the keyboard. "The radroaches are all products of what you, Jasmine, called mixed radiation-FEV influences if by FEV you mean Forced Evolutionary Virus. Except that the so called virus was probably more than just a virus."

Jasmine nodded. "I have read such conjectures in Predoomsday scientific underground journals that the USFG was always trying to find and stop."

Suzanne: "USFG?"

Jasmine frowned. "United States Federal Government of the United States of America that was divided into the Thirteen Commonwealths at the end of World War Two. We are either in the Commonwealth, of Columbia, or beneath it in ServoVault101 that is part of TechVault101. What made the bigger radroaches become different from the smaller ones?"

The Doctor spoke with a grave tone of voice. "Somebody has transformed them in a most fundamental and cruel manner. I am afraid I suspect that this work bares the mark of the Rani or at least that she is part of what is happening."

Radroaches were entering the chamber and spreading out as if searching for something. Then one of the smaller ones went to dash back through the doorway. It suddenly shuddered as if in agony, turned and scuttled off back into the chamber. It had tried to escape and had been forced to return to its task; it appeared that the bigger cockroaches somehow enslaved the others.

FME: 1.5.1[5.1]

Benjamin asked a question. "Who is the Rani?"

Suzanne responded. "The Rani is a very dangerous criminal rogue Timelord who was ejected from the Timelord University for her evil experimentation on non-Timelord subjects. She managed to steal a TSG, a timespaceglobe, that is the common kind of timespaceship as used by Timelords and our Timefollowers. Somehow she got off our home world of Gallifrey despite that she was confined there waiting for trail before the Timelord Adjudication High Council. In the process she killed a Timelord who was forced to undertake an early regeneration thus greatly reducing her full lifespan potential."

Just outside, of the TARDIS, three big radroaches vanished with a sparkling shimmer as did eight smaller radroaches.

The Doctor spoke. "Officially thirteen TARDISes have been created, by the Timelord Artificers, each being quite unique in some ways while also having much in common with each other. From the start this old sweetie bonded with me, a privilege granted and a compliment to any Timelord, but until this voyage I have only worked inside her carrying out research development projects and other valuable work."

Suzanne snorted softly. "Of course, grandfather!"

The Doctor walked jauntily away from the exotic console and towards the double doors opposite from the entrance-exit. "Like an airlock, the outer door has to be closed for any of the other doors can be opened. They will only open for Suzanne and myself as we are Timelords."

The doors swung open before them and they were looking into a great open chamber reaching out into the distance. Benjamin gaped in shock, ElectricFred did not react at all as if not realising there was something odd about the situation and Jasmine gave an odd smile.

Jasmine spoke. "This feels familiar, somehow, like I have been here before. TARDIS stands for Time, Alternates and Relative Dimensions Intrinsic to Space. Yes, I think that I was born here."

Both Timelords looked quite surprised.

ElectricFred spoke. "It doesn't look like a maternity ward."

He was right for it was a large multiple purpose chamber but at the center was a great raised disk shaped dais with special swivel chairs and a big circular console from which rose, at the center, a big softly glowing semitransparent cylinder. There were three others there being a big ginger tabby cat, an odd gold-silver-copper patterned metallic humanoid and another young woman who looked identical to Suzanne including her gear.

FME: 1.6.1[6.1]

DocTARDISmind spoke seemingly from mid air, and yet from many black speaker orbs, at once. "One remembers you, Jasmine, though not clearly. As the Doctor knows, one's memories were interfered with during a period of crisis that took place before one was placed in a deep security vault in the depths of the Timelord Academy. It is a sector forbidden to the great majority, including Timelords. The Timeguardians keep it highly secure and tightly sealed off. One was there was many aeons before the Doctor came to one as one expected he would. The Doctor brought his granddaughter, Suzanne, which was a nice bonus."

Suzanne smiled. "Thank you, TARDIS."

DocTARDISmind: "Suzanne, you are often so much nicer than your grandfather."

Suzanne sighed. "Yes, grandfather can be quite aloof at times."

The Doctor frowned softly. "If you have finished picking on me, will you kindly focus on what is important. I am going to examine, more closely, the captured radroaches that now are inside the TARDIS. I would appreciate your assistance in this matter, TARDISmind, thank you."

DocTARDISmind: "I am still regenerating damage done during the hurried escape, from Gallifrey, through a wild timespace vortex but, I am sure that I can assist. Jasmine was born in the original core sector of myself. Why this was so is lost to me but her mother was part Timelord and part something else that was not mortal. When Jasmine was born this TARDIS was parked in an underground complex below a famous landmark here in the District of Columbia. Her father, Professor James Anderson, left with Jasmine who was only about two weeks old at the time. As for Jasmine's mother, she supposedly died while giving birth to Jasmine but this is not true."

Jasmine frowned. "Where is my mother, Catherine Anderson?"

DocTARDISmind: "I am sorry but I do not know. She was here, in this TARDIS, and then she was gone in the sense that my memories of that internal time period have been lost somehow."

DocWho nodded, as if to his own thoughts. "The DocTARDIS core zone is a dangerous place especially as this experimental prototype TARDIS; this is not one of the officially built thirteen. Those are all used by the Timeguardians, or so is the official story. There have been whispers that one was stolen and another vanished mysteriously but the Timeguardians tend to stay silent on such matters."

He turned to Suzanne. "Granddaughter, please take Dazanne with you to assist Jasmine, Benjamin and the funny little robot."

ElectricFred spoke excitedly. "What funny little robot? I see no funny little robot!"

Jasmine frowned at the Doctor. "ElectricFred is not a funny little robot but a brave little robot that is highly humorous at times. Please, we must go at once to assist my comrade Exterminators."

ElectricFred made a rude electronic noise at the Doctor which only made him sound like a funny little robot.

A plan was agreed upon.

FME: 1.7.1[7.1]

The strange metallic robotic Chimerro rejuvenated useful items of the Exterminators but also did a total light rejuvenation of the claptrap robot. Then Chimerro duplicated various items such as cartridges, ESCFs, (emergency survival concentrate foodbars), multiple purpose stimpaks, water capsules and MREs (meals ready to eat) and even fully charged RCPs (rechargeable chargepacks).

Chimerro did not go with the group because it was needed to assist with the rejuvenation-regeneration of DocTARDIS.

ElectricFred had new tools, non lethal weapons and instruments. Benjamin, and Jasmine, each had a electric shock bident (two pronged trident like device) and a 10mm caseless cartridge using handgun.

With Suzanne, and her clone-sister Dazanne, with them the five of them found that the big chamber, with the lockers and the now invisible TARDIS, was empty of radroaches though it did have some radroach poop left behind. The bigger, stranger smelling, stuff was from the bigger, stranger, radroaches and it was less common than the other stuff.

Jasmine spoke. "Radroach s*** is useful stuff that can be processed in many ways. Radroaches have been captured and kept in secure, well cared for, captivity where they eat stuff inedible to people, animals or other lifeforms in LifeVault101."

Jasmine: "TechVault101 is divided into LifeVault101, ServoVault101 and AuxiVault101. ServoVaults are the primary service-support base for any TechVault while LifeVaults are where people live along with pets, working pets, livestock, crops and other officially registered lifeforms. With the AuxiVaults the 'auxi' is short for auxiliary which means that the AuxiVault does lots of things that the other two type vaults do not but also supplements what they do."

Jasmine: "For quarantine reasons captive radroaches are kept in AuxiVault101 so it is doubted that the new infestations came from there."

Jasmine: "There are also the CoreVault, InterVault and RimVault areas, the InterVault being between and directly around the three main vaults and the RimVault being wrapped around the lot, being also just inside the big outer hull. As for the CoreVault's real nature, and purpose, nobody seems to know and the relevant information is not in the VaultNet's publicly accessible databanks."

Benjamin grinned. "Or in any other databanks that we managed to hack."

They became quieter as they entered the hallway outside the chamber. Soon they were heading along the big, wide, corridor of TechVault101's ServoVault. At first it appeared as if the radroaches might have gone back the way they had come, as swarms always did after invading an area; the source, of the infestation, was a mystery.

FME: 1.8.1[8.1]

Arnold was, as a highly skilled-experienced medic, was busy tending the toxic bite on Shanz who was looking quite ill. Arnold did not kill unless he really had to do so but he more than made up for it in other ways. The redhead was quietly concerned with the dusky white Shanz's condition. It was the first time that an Exterminator had been bitten by one of the bigger, less natural, radroaches. He spoke to the others. "Unlike the normal radroaches, as normal as they can said to be, the big uglies have some nasty venom. The use of two stimpaks has greatly helped but we need to get him to better assistance."

They were in an Exterminators' safehome being three chambers with added, often jury rigged, upgrades and additions.

Black haired-skinned Karina had refilled her quiver with arrows taken from her spares but those were now in small numbers.

Another claptrap robot was busy watching a wall to make sure it didn't suddenly do anything surprising; this was one way to stop SparkleFred from getting to agitated and wildly attacking something while getting the robot to believe it was doing something important. In battle SparkleFred was helpful but otherwise often needed to be safely diverted.

The HackinTriplets were once more at their computer network-system being a mixture of officially gained, stolen and jury rigged hardware, firmware and software. The two females, and one male, were computer geniuses, in many ways, but hacking was their masterpiece.

Harris cursed softly, tapped some keys quickly, and sat back in his comfortable office swivel-chair. "Got closer, this time, to the CSNS (Core Supernetwork of Network-Systems) but their security is amazingly strong. Reminds of what I have read of the Trinet of Skynet, LASnet and Deepnet. Some kind of mad superscientific supergenius think tank, called the 1Gen1, developed the special hardware, software and firmware of the Trinet. Except why would their influence be found here in TechVault101?"

At that moment Jasmine walked into the room with Suzanne and ElectricFred following closely. Then came Dazanne and Benjamin, being the last of the group to arrive. Except that five normal radroaches scuttled into the chamber only to rush up to stand close to Jasmine as if expecting that she would protect them.

Jasmine spoke. "The superroaches are the big ones that have been given the same sort of treatments that create supermutants. My father has told me about supermutants. He, and his companions, had to fight off some of the big uglies when they were coming here to TechVault101 with myself as a baby. His companions were a Steeltrooper, of the SteelBrotherhood, a large dog, a big single wheeled robot and three others of mysterious identity. The SteelTrooper was a woman from the West Coast who had come, with others of her kind, to scout WashingtonDC for tech resources. Anyway, back to the superroaches, there must be some kind of research centre hidden either in or close to the TechVault."

She turned to study Shanz and went to him quickly with the radroaches following her.

Crouching next to Arnold, she ran her hands lightly over the sick Exterminator. "Suzanne, could you please come here. This appears to be a very serious situation."

The Timelord did so and crouched on the other side of the sick young man from Arnold and Jasmine. She took out a disk shaped device and planted it briefly on his forehead, then the center of his chest and last of all on his solar plexus. After that she took up the device and examined a small crystalic disk shaped screen on its front.

Suzanne spoke. "He can be saved but he is already changed and that can not all be safely undone."

So the fight for Shanz's life really began.

FME: 1.9.1[9.1]

The PaleOneMan studied a naked young woman, in the center of a strange semitransparent cube that gave the woman some modesty. By appearance she could easily have been Jasmine Anderson of TechVault101 but he knew this already. The big chamber was half filled with Predoomsday type technologies, most of it VaultTech standard stuff, but another third far more exotic tech. It was strange to know that it was inside of TechVault101 and yet not in it for it was in a type of timespaceship known as a TSARC, Time Space Alternates Regulated Craft.

He spoke, in a very cold hard voice, to the image on the 3Dwallscreen. That was PrimeOverseer Lilia Tran who in theory was the most powerful individual in TechVault101; though close to being so, she was not! "You have done well in carrying out your part of the bargain, PrimeOverseer, and 100 metric tonnes of valuable resources are being released for the use of your people along with a bonus of 100 robotic kits of the vaultbot kind. I have taken direct responsibility with this transaction."

Lilia responded drily. "'They' will not like it!"

The cold, tall, angular one gave a cold, hard, smile. "'They' are going to try something foolish and will be punished hard for doing so. It is more than time for them to be reminded of their limitations within the Isolationist Research Development Program." He turned, in his black hoodrobe, to look directly at Lilia. Though a strong willed human she flinched just a little when his eyes met hers. "Outsiders, extraterrestrials, have infiltrated into ServoVault101 of TechVault101."

Lilia nodded. "Though our surveillance network-systems, in that area, are not in top condition, we have gained 3Dvideo and other readings of up to three newcomers. What appears to be a primitive, British, wooden police box appeared out of nowhere as if teleporting into a chamber. Two figures stepped out of it being an older appearing man and a younger appearing woman. They then detected the approach of one of our secondary subjects, one Benjamin, and then cloaked themselves. Jasmine then entered. She was able to almost clearly see the two by looking at them but most likely detected them by other means. I suppose you knew this."

The PaleOneMan shook his head. "I do not always know everything at all times! I rely on you. A blue police box? This indicates a great threat to our project. If the Doctor is here, the Rani will not be pleased. It is about time you knew about the Rani. The two of us come across just as cold as each other but she is more dangerous than I am because she is criminally insane while my coldness is simply a reflection of my true nature. The Rani and the Doctor are of a subspecies known as the Timelords being linked to an ancient species of transhumans known as Gallifreyans simply because they are of the planet of Gallifrey."

She was so surprised that all this information was being shared with her that Lilia failed to conceal it. Then she smiled. "Transhuman as in transformed humans?"

The PaleOneMan gave one of his odd, sharpish, shrugs. "In this matter I can only speculate that it is so. Other possibilities are transitioned humans, transgened humans along with others. I must go as there is much work to do. I have sent you a gift as a bonus for your doing so well. I hope you do wellness."

Lilia smiled. "I also hope you do wellness."

Then the 3Dwallscreen showed a slowly whirling, otherwise transforming, 3D pattern.

FME: 1.10.1[10.1]

The Doctor spoke even as he completed working with TARDISmind to examine the radroaches and superroaches that were still very much alive. "The superroaches are in agony and are dying; we will attempt to convert them to a more healthier, less pained, form of life and in the process we will gain more knowledge. Have you managed to ascertain who-what has been spying on us through local network-systems?"

DocTARDISmind: "Only that the surveillance has been taking place for some time and appears to be directed by somebody high in the hierarchy of vault leadership. That would indicate at least one of the Overseers and not the Directors, Coordinators, Supervisors or other ranks. The primitive nature of the TechVault computer technologies is one of the main obstacles to my infiltration attempts. That and damage done to it, over time, that has not been properly fixed. I am using tribotic programs to run diagnostics and to do network-system repairs along with some minor upgrades. I have been gaining a great deal of data, some of which is actually useful."

The Doctor tapped some keys with amazing speed and dexterity. "Be careful not to overdo your repairs and upgrades. Now, let us see what we can do with the radroaches. We will have them in the DocTARDIS Zoological Complex with lots of room in a solid holographic projection environment as a friendlier version of a ruined vault section."

The peacefully sleeping radroaches dematerialised with a soft shimmering side-effect.

DocTARDISmind: "It is done! There is an emergency! The young man who was bitten by a superroach needs to be brought back to the DocTARDIS as quickly as possible. The toxin he took in appears to contain both a form of mutagenic influence along with the FEV."

DocWho frowned softly. "Somebody has been playing at being God. We will do what we can for him, here, and also learn more about what is going on. I suggest that the group comes to the DocTARDIS, including the young man."

DocTARDISmind: "The situation has become problematic!"

The Doctor sighed softly. "As it so often is. We will attempt to be solutionatic!"

FME: 1.10.1[10.1]

Superroaches were swarming towards the safehome but they were not the strangest, or major, threat to the group of Exterminators or two Gallifreyans.

The roachmans looked blended human radroach humanoids, hunched and run-scuttling along on four legs with two arms with strange hands holding weapons.

Their eight distorted bodies wore adapted body-armour while each carried what looked to be a basic twin barrelled shotgun or an oversized revolver-pistol with a second grip or both a shortspear and a spike centered round shield. Four had the shields and spears, two had revolverguns and two had shotguns. Every one of them also had a three closed pouches, canteen of tasty glunge, a handy pocket-tookla, a longknife, a shortsword and an electric zapper to deal with the superroaches if necessary.

Superroaches outnumbered the roachmans at just over two to one, some being much bigger than those recorded as being previously encountered by any vaultfolk; at least as far as the Exterminators knew.

There were no radroaches there but there was nasty evidence that at least some of the superroaches had eaten their smaller 'cousins'.

One of the roachmans spoke in a strangely twisted voice. "She, IceEyesWoman, she would want us to find something useful for her researches. Then she give us bonus good things to eat, drink and to be merry with such as the ugly humans speak of. I, Broto111, say we do best to please IceEyesWoman or maybe she do her researches on us."

Another roachman responded. "She is cruel. Maybe we should run away and be free." But then she cried out in pain as her punisher shocked her with electricity. Then the pain was gone. She spoke again. "No, that is a foolish idea. It is best to serve the IceEyesWoman with much loyalty."

The leader spoke again, mandibles clicking in agitation. "We have passed many metal doors. Look ahead, another one, but one picks up the smells of radroaches, humans...."

Superroaches got there first and seemed to be sniffing at the door. They became even more agitated than normal and the roachmans knew then, for sure, that humans were behind the door. They could be captured and taken to the IceEyesWoman who would work with them in ways that even the roachmans did not like to think about. The only humans captured so far, in the TechVault, had been wild fringers in the RimVault but they were getting more dangerous and there were other nasties in that place that roachmans had difficulty dealing with.

Suddenly they were all sensing danger and turning, they found themselves facing a wave of attackers. Dull metallic silver dog robots came rushing towards them. Three boxy, vaguely dog like, K9As glided along the metallic flooring being easily smooth enough so they did not have to hover. Three boxy, but more dog like, K9Bs ran heavily along the same hallway.

Amazingly enough, just leading them, was a large ginger tabby cat with blazing, glowing, beautiful eyes (okay, I admit it, I am a cat lover). As she rushed forward a field of energy shot out before her and began pushing the eight roachmans plus 17 superroaches before her. From the K9 robots spat stunning pulsebeams. The Doctor had sent out the attack but he did not want any unnecessary deaths.

The fight was over before it started.

The Doctor was angry and was pacing back-forth in the large, quite exotic and yet dull, laboratory-workshop chamber. In a long row of capsules were all of the captured superroaches and roachmans with the roachman gear having been put in storage for later examination. "The Mark of the Rani is there in those poor victims of hers but there are indications of others at work who are just as brilliant and cruel as she is even if she can not feel it to be so."

Suzanne frowned softly at him. "One day you will tell me who the Rani really is just as you will tell me what happened with my mother."

DocWho gave his granddaughter a dark frown. "You will not thank me for the truth."

She shrugged. "Nor will I thank you for keeping the truth from me. Did the Rani do something to her?"

He frowned some more. "Very well, I will show you the truth but after we deal with at least some of this crisis. The truth is not going to be kind to you just as it was not so to myself when I finally discovered it."

Suzanne nodded. "You have your deal."

They were now all in the DocTARDIS with the Exterminators being with Gingerki, the exotic cat, Dazanne and the K9 robots that had come to the rescue.

Ian, and Barbara, the English teachers, had been visiting the 'others' to do some teaching. They were now with the visitors. Having come from an alternative Earth, and the time-place of the DocTARDIS gaining the default shape of a police box, the pair were troubled-fascinated by that PostDoomsday world. In contrast the vaultfolk were amazed-impressed by that other world that was not largely made up of Wastelands or giant monster infested oceans, the Deathwaters along with other dangerous areas.

The Doctor cursed softly in an alien language that Suzanne did not know and which, for once, the TARDIS could not automatically translate; that DocWho chose that language was no accident.

He turned to her. "Please come with me to the TARDIScore, before I wisely change my mind."

He led her through corridors that she was fairly familiar with with their disk like wall cavities and flat lighting plates melded into the ceilings. Those features were common to the TARDISzone that Suzanne was most familiar with. Then they went through a kind of three chambered airlock like arrangement, each chamber needing one door to be sealed before the other was opened. Suzanne had never been into the TARDIScore before and had assumed that it was just a place full of many fairly dangerous, intricate, and vital facets keeping the DocTARDIS functioning.

Soon she would be wishing that this was the case!
