Can you guys make a modlist for me?

Using the Nexus' "Top 100" with filters is a good way to put together a list. Start HERE and use the "Filter by Category" drop-down menu to fine-tune your list. Personally, I would leave it as is and simply look over all the mods in order. All you have to look out for is mod conflicts. Read each mod you are interested in thoroughly to make sure you don't have any conflicts. Or, if there are, what patches may be available.

As for load order, LOOT is your best friend.

Trust me, with Special Edition being much easier to work with, putting together your own modlist is a joy you should not deny yourself.

Having said that, here are a few mods I would absolutely recommend you include in your load order:

Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM
Immersive Armors
Alternate Start - Live Another Life
Realistic Water Two
Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul SE
Cutting Room Floor
Vivid Weathers Special Edition - a complete Weather and Visual overhaul for Skyrim SE
Immersive Patrols SE
A Quality World Map
Immersive Sounds - Compendium
Run For Your Lives
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul - RDO SE
The Paarthurnax Dilemma
Realistic Lighting Overhaul SSE
Realistic Ragdolls and Force
When Vampires Attack
Breezehome
Point The Way
Lanterns of Skyrim SE
VioLens - A Killmove Mod SE
Better Dialogue Controls
skyBirds SSE Edition
Bandolier - Bags and Pouches Classic
Bijin All in One-SSE
Winter Is Coming SSE - Cloaks
Modern Brawl Bug Fix

All of the above mods are currently in the top 100 positions in the list I gave you above. A few of the mods require patches and/or modular installations when combined with others in the list. Read them all carefully.

If you want a quality follower or two, I also recommend the following:

INIGO
Sofia - The Funny Fully Voiced Follower
Professor Benjamin Doon SSE

The above three followers are, in my opinion, the best of the best. Each of them has hundreds of lines of original and professionally recorded dialogue. Each has their own distinct personality and will not only react to the way YOU act towards them, but will often comment on the current location and/or situation.

EDIT: I took out "CoT" from my suggested mods, not because there's a problem with it, but I forgot that it conflicts with Vivid Weathers.

  • 2 weeks later...

Vilja and Inigo (with the special Inigo dialogue enabled in the Vilja mod) for some entertaining companions. If you are a young computer-oriented-type guy then you might really enjoy Sofia.

Good stuff on the lists above. I really like Noble Skyrim HD 2K SE.

I would just look on Nexus in the top lists, latest files... to see what looks interesting, you could also try looking at the S.E.P.T.I.M guide on the Nexus which seems to be fairly popular to give you some ideas.
