Request Help Building/Buying a New Gaming Computer

Recommended Posts

I'm considering building or buying a new gaming computer since my current one is five years old, and the best framerate I get from Fallout 4 on its lowest settings without any mods is just under 28 FPS. What I'm looking for is preferably a laptop that will easily hold 60 FPS with lots of mods installed. What are some good suggestions? I'd like the top of the line, and prefer to have a lot of storage, RAM, and processing power. I don't plan on using VR equipment or playing online games such as Battlefield or Destiny 2.

Alienware 17 laptops run anywhere from $2500-4000 depending on options, and they include a 1080 gpu.

I personally would not suggest spending that much on a laptop. It's a very poor value when compared to the cost of building a rig yourself. I'm pretty sure a pre-built desktop with a GTX 1080 would be cheaper than that laptop, but I wouldn't know as I never check that sort of thing out.

The OP said he preferred a laptop, but I agree 110% with your comments. A desktop computer can be built with equivalent or better speed for half as much as a laptop, if not less.

Oh, I see. I must have missed that somehow. My apologies.
