Hey Rabbit,

This thread should be more visible.

I see that it's mentioned "DRM-FREE. No activation or online connection required to play." for New-Vegas.

Does this means it can be installed and played without Steam installed?

It also said "Works on Windows (7, 8, 10) " Would it mean that it won't work on 32bit system?

Regrettably it's hard getting the message out without spamming the forums. This was my best guess spot.

Originally Steam was only required on New Vegas. With this it is Steam free.

I have played all of these originally on Windows 7 and they worked fine back then. I can't speak for Win 8 although these should do fine with it also. There have been major issues with running the original Fallout 3 with Windows 10.These should have all been recoded to run on 10 by GOG. I may buy that one as I'm using the original copy right now and it probably wont work for me anymore.

What do you think about having it posted in the Mod Author Forum too? I believe it's important because previously every non steam copy was pirated, it is not the case anymore.

I have a retail copy of NV, I didn't know at the time that by buying it I was forced to have steam on my PC. I unistalled straight after a playthrought as I felt "betrayed"

I'm still running on a XP system (which is now completely up to date if you think of it) and all Internet and unnecessary services are disabled.

I don't want to change it, it is stable and perfect for what I do.

To have NV back, without the useless crap, is very tempting...

Thanks for sharing this info.

Fallout 3 is an old game for sure. But as of now I am still playing it on a Win 10 rig - heavily modded. Most of the mods I downloaded back when it was new still works for me.

I would caution whoever buys this game from this server to read the fine print. A lot of these discount small webstores give you like 30 days to download and close the link forever. Which means you are stuck having to hold on to your digital copy. Disk space is never a problem, but we often get things lost in our old HDD. I worked in IT with very good backup habit and still lost a lot of personal stuff (stashed away somewhere and forgot where I put them).

Personally, I would wait for sales on Steam because Steam will keep your digital right forever (as long as you don't lose your Steam account). That is a peace of mind knowing my purchase is at my finger tip, even though history proves that I rarely go back to old games, but .... "hey I have it when I want it".

Just my 2 cents.

you do realise that people used those same arguments against Steam when it started.

people were worried that something would happen and Steam would be unavailable and they would lose all their games.

recently I remembered that on my old PC I had set up an Origin account so I installed it on my current PC and managed to remember my login/password combo.

all the games I got through Origin, including the games that were "on the house" are all still there.

GOG has been going for ages. no reason to worry that you will lose your purchases.

OMG, it's $9.99USD.

It costs me more than that to see a ninety minute movie at the theater.

If the game runs for more than ninety minutes, I will feel that it is money well spent.
