VSRevan
So there are "Most recent", "Most endorsed", "Most downloaded" and "Last updated" search options. New mod stays in "Most recent" first page for about one day and after that becomes popular or vanishes. Most of players just use "Most endorsed" 1-10 pages, but it's very unlikely to get there for a new mod in 24 hours of glory. Especially for unknown mod authors. Also first version of a mod is quite buggy, but after fixes it can become very decent.Recently I found few cool and very underestimated mods by comparing "Unic downloads"/"Endorses" ratio. So why there is no such search option? It definitely could give decent but unknown mods chance to see the light. Ethreon
So what do you want? There hundreds of thousands of files, there is no way they can all be displayed. In the end it is up to the user to look stuff up.
VSRevan
I want "Unic downloads/Endorses ratio" sorting option.
Di0nysys
There certainly could be better discoverability on the Nexus. Just about every user driven content site like Nexus faces these issues, and they all have very different ways of dealing with it. I certainly see a lot of mods that should be more recognized fade into obscurity because of the day they release, or the lack of any substantial coverage, or bad screenshots, or just simply because the hotfiles on that particular day are taken up by 3 skimpy followers, a bikini armor and a leaf retexture. Nexus could certainly improve on this front.
ddavies10693
This is true. The first thing I see when opening the nexus page for Skyrim SE has just been a picture of a butt for like a week. Gets annoying after a while.
Sonja
There *is* a way for users to deal with this issue...First of all, go through your available filters and block the stuff you don't want to see. Then, start combing through the types of mods that don't interest you.. If the authors in those areas produce nothing but that type of mod, block them. That way, you can fine tune the content on your Nexus homepage without blocking entire categories. For example... I went through a large number of generic, vanilla-voiced follower mods.. if there was nothing unique about them, and their authors hadn't contributed anything but those types of mods.... I blocked them. I also keep an eye on new files, and repeat the procedure as needed. The same applies to skimpy armour mods. While I'm not fully comfortable with the censorship, the reality is that I'm not interested in such mods, so I'd rather they didn't clutter up my Hot Files, obscuring content I might actually want to install. VSRevan
duplicate here for clarification:Ok, here you some info to understand what I mean:Total Character Makeover - 20,777 endorses and 381,679 unic downloads edndorses/unic downloads = ~0.054. So:Total Character Makeover ~5.4%RS Children ~6.2%Immersive Armors ~5.7%SFO ~5.5%RLO ~4.7%USSEP ~7.2%Ordinator ~6%CC's HQ Mines ~7%What is "CC's HQ Mines"? I had no idea of its existance until yesterday, but in the "quality" sorting option it would be above all most popular mods from the first page (except USSEP). Yes, maybe it wouldn't stay there long, but it would be visible. And I would notice and download it much earlier.

Shabdez
The problem with a donwload / endorsment ratio would be, that small mods with less than 2 mb in filesize can be downloaded without logging in. For an endorsement you need to be logged in. So I would guess that small mods in general have an inferior donwload / endorsment ratio.
