TheModernStoryteller
Gamasutra just published my critical evaluation of Bethesda's Creation Club on its front page. I hope it's of interest.
ymf331
i'm really neither for nor against it, but rather think that there will be technical issues preventing a lot of good content from being included. as a mod author, what's your take on this? for example, let's say a large-scale npc overhaul gets added, and that maybe a city overhaul or something like immersive citizens gets added. a lot of proposals would then be be doa, i think, solely due to the structure of plugins. if all the mods in the creation club are to be compatible, that's something beth will need to figure out. if another npc overhaul that's more popular and arguably much better pops up, would it be offered as an alternative? or is it first-come, first-serve? if it can only be distributed for free, then wouldn't it be competing directly with bethesda's profits? for the other mods i mentioned, i think that issues would arise even with mods that do vastly different things. the alternative option wouldn't exactly work in that case. You're falling into a trap, nowhere in the FAQ is specified or mentioned that mods in CC must be/are compatible with other mods in the CC, they only stated that mods will be compatible with save game, and other official DLC, not other mods.Lets say you want to install 2 mods from CC that may conflict with each other, they will just gonna give you an option to chose between one of the 2, will just give you a notice about conflicts and their hands will be clean.
