How do i skip the EXE optimizer step in Morrowind Overhaul?

The exe optimizer that the installer uses is outdated (version 1.8) and doesn't work but it wont let me skip this step even though i patched the game through manually downloading 1.9. So how do i get past this?

Replace the 1.8 (wherever MGSO puts it) with your downloaded 1.9? Never run the MGSO installer so dunno how it works.
