feels like your the only living person? (MODDER ?)

when i am playing skyrim i feel a bit like i am the only living person in the world and half the people never seen me hate me the other half love me for no reason at all.

i am sadly not a modder but wouldn't it be great if some one that was really good at these things could give the world some more personality? i mean interact with the people around you, have them remember you, let them act as if they where alive. and in dungeons why does every one instantly try to kill me? if i ain't aggressive at all they should at least try to imprison me instead of killing me, put some more interaction into the game with the whole world.

wild animals, if i am a peacefull type let me pet them/feed them etc. and let the area remember you (with time the bigger wild life could even start to protect you)

just in general set some life into the game, i really feel like skyrim is a world with only 1 individ which is you. even your companiens ain't able to talk about them and what they want or would like and how they feel about you just killing a child and hanging him naked in a tree head down, apparently that is normal beheaviour for good person to do without your companien complaining or endorsing it if he is that kinda person.

well it would just be insanely awesome to have something like this. really the thing skyrim lacks the most and what i personally think is making it boring in the long run is the lack of this spectrum in the gameplay.

finished up my first suggestion about a mod like discussed in this thread:

Skyrim isn't a strategy game or a simulation. It's an RPG. This is just the way RPGs have always worked (since Zork at least).

The things you're talking about have all been tried and many of those features were since discarded (between Sims 2 and 3). Maybe they'll return in Sims 4, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

it's actually only the elder scrool serie from my knowledge where npc's got the depth of a puddle in charecter personality :) a game as simple and small as dark messiagh got 10 times more depth in the charecter feeling then skyrim (which is also a rpg btw).

if your gonna try to smack the post then at least get your fact streight.

the sims is in a total other catagori then rpg's and using that as example is pretty bad (especially since it is made as a babysitter simulation +- so yer).

rpg means ROLE PLAYING GAME. meaning there is a high need to make you feel that you are role playing which gets very hard when there is no personality depth in the npc's and even the weakest bandits will try to assault a fully wargeared knight and they will fight to the very death never surrendering or even try to reason with the player :)

so what i would have loved is for skyrim to become a RPG instead of a Hack&slash, which it essentially is (when you look at the build of the game. go here kill everything, go here kill everything, go here kill everything and lvl some skills to kill some more dudes. there is next to no choice weather i wanna go in and reason with the bandits, treaten them, bribe them etc. it's just a go to x and kill everything, which is a hack&slash not a rpg)

gsmanners, who seems to have none, is indeed a bit wrong about the definition of an RPG... I don't see anything wrong with wanting a living world.

...

@erebus2075: There are several mods that will help you a little (look in the Immersion and NPC sections chiefly), but there's only so much they can do. Proper better AI is hard. If you have more specific ideas, there's the Mod Requests forum you'll want to post to.

i will give it a look and make a proper and more detailed description of a suggestion on a mod ^^

Moron.

Personal attacks on other members of this site are not acceptable. Had this been included in the rest of a post perhaps I would have let you off with a warning. Since this is the ONLY things you had to say...a Strike for you. I suggest you review the rules of this site before posting again....and check the attitude at the door.~Lisnpuppy

I have every sympathy with the OPs position, its as if the world and player are two completely seperate things. Nothing I do makes the slightest bit of difference to anything or anybody, the zombie like player character doesn't help, the player character just stares blankly ahead no matter what is going on around him/her, the character looks disconnected, bored and disinterested, much like I do when playing.

It would be nice to have a little more life in the game. When there was all the talk about some sort of dynamic merchant system in Skyrim I got excited, and then upon buying and playing i was disappointed. It would be nice to really affect the economy of the land, merchants getting rich off because you sell them tons of items, and merchants going out of business if you shut off their supply (or forge their numbers).

That said there are few instances where it seems like the world is lively. For instance, members of the companions out in the wild hunting, some comments people make when you're in the thieves guild, NPCs actually going home and sleeping at night, the thugs that try to rough you up. I also pissed off that argonian in the bee and bard in Riften and he still tells me to get out every time even after I did the little quest for him.. guess it didn't make up for whatever I did originally (which I can't even remember now).

Also in the future I would probably tone down the example of killing children and hanging them from trees (who does this anyway?) since it takes a mod to even be able to kill children. I understand the point you're trying to make but it weakens your argument since it's not something you can do out of the box and therefore not something the developers could write for.
