Sorry for the wwird pics, most of the structures look still wip , they are missing still :

 

proper vertex shading , the overlay of grasses and dirth , the broken diversified stratus of material , the collision, the uvmapping of some areas , the Lods .

 

Those things though hopefully will requyire much less work and time than the nip and tuck work needed to make all this so far .

Finally I started to check the pieces modules ingame ,just a couple of them , missing still some fixes here and there, the vertex coloring and optimization , but I am getting there slowly .... slowly ....

I was just wondering if I shoudl replace the "vanilla" like texture that is taken from the Whiterun walls with a different one , this has some pro and cons ...

 

pro - different look

 

cons - 1 - a definetly more work and time to dedicate on it as requires some variations , alpha maps for plaster decals , for other stuff as well and the normal map creation ... all this might seem easy to do with a tool but in reality requires a lot of manual work to fine tune well .

 

cons - 2 - might require a secondary different texture for interior areas t match better , while the Vanilla is a kind of jolly texture those look a little less rough and more for outher walls .

 

 

anyway In the large picture to show well just the textures on some models ,

 

1 is Vanilla

 

2 is a worked texture

 

3 is another possible worked texture

As a lazy modder I would choose the way that causes less work and pain ;)

 

Plus there is always a possibility that custom textures could change the characteristic nordic style in a negative way.

 

I can't tell in this case, because I can't open your image,

but the things that you created so far already look excellent :thumbsup:

Thankyou . I think I decided to go for the second Wall texture, it will require some work but It will be worth in my opinion because I see that a lot of people are using the Whiterun structures in their other mods and I think its starting to become boring to see and overused .

I will mix it with the 3rd texture and eventually add another one more like layered stones and one of larger blocks ..... But I can do that later after Ifinished building the whole city .

 

right now I have designed all the outher walls , Outlined in 3dsmax and I will just need to add homes there, I am also redesigning the Palace wich now I am having as inspiration this ...

This because in Theory My Issgard mod Island has seen 3 types of cultural influence, Ancient Nord, Akavir and Breton so I think that the urban style fits .

The Ancient Nord culture split into two types then Traditionalist , more close to the Ancient Nord Architecture , inspired by

And the Urbanized , influenced by the many sea travels and commerce the Issgardians had with the rest of Tamriel , in particular modern day Skyrim , Empire and Breton .

so the most of the city is inspired mostly to Norman English and Italian Architecture with some areas having an archeological evidence of ancient Nord walls basement .

Here are Three side views of the New and Last shape of the Main Palace , I will refine , adjoust stuff here and there , may be add some details , but I decided that this is the final look , it looks massive, straight and spartan and more important , unique .... to you the judging .
