New design constructive feedback

I keep running into the same problem. When I go through the mod lists and click on a mod to check it out it works fine. However whenever I click back to the mod list it always puts me back to page 1 of the mod list regardless of which page I was previously on. For example if I'm on page 8 and click on a mod it'll go to that mod, but as soon as I click back to what should be page 8 It'll send me back to page 1 every time instead. What makes it worse is every time it dose this it wont let me leave page 1 so I literally have to close the site and open a new tab. It makes looking through new mods a pain to say the least.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There seems to be too much going on with the new layout hat it is difficult to search and focus on what you want. The old one was perfection. But your admin team wasted too much building the new layout and you're stuck with s***. Oh well...

Hmm...yeah...too bad the basic premise of your conjecture (and that's all it really is) is flawed, and therefore, your entire line of reasoning is flawed as well.

Nexusmods.com was already broke by virtue of it being an outdated and outmoded format, and it would have had to been brought up to internet standards anyway as the internet continues to evolve new protocols and coding.

Therefore, since you chose to ignore the OP and the basic premise of this thread, your comment has been dutifully reported as it contains zero (that's 0) constructive feedback.

Here's my constructive feedback:

- Currently, the information on mod pages (like Endorsements, Downloads, Version, About This Mod etc.) is not being arranged in a visually pleasing way. For comparison, see this Stylish mod, which manages to completely fix the problem: https://userstyles.org/styles/150272/compact-nexusmods-2-1-0

- Why is it that now I am not able to see a description of a Hot File without opening it, unless it's one of the two that are shown in bigger squares?

- What happened to being able to see the Views count when managing my files? It was a very handy information for newly uploaded files...

- When managing my files, why are values that are in thousands being rounded up? I much prefer being able to see the exact values.

And there are also a few features that I would like to be added:

- Setting the default way of sorting my own files

- Being able to sort my own files by the most recent change, including any endorsements

- Being notified about someone endorsing my file

Just noticed something....

When viewing mods in a given list (ie., Most Recent, Most Downloaded, etc.) and looking at the preview images, it seems like there's a gradient where it gets....'foggy' at the bottom. That's the only way I can describe it, it seems like there's a forced overlay effect where everything just goes to grey as you get closer to to the bottom of the preview pic. Why? Just to be 'edgy?' IDK about the rest of you, but this wreaks havoc with my eyes, makes me think my screen is bugging out or it/my glasses need cleaning.

Get rid of it, it's totally unneeded. Just have the preview pic be a preview pic, not an attempt to show how cool and edgy your site is now; I don't remember this being a thing when the new layout first went live, which means they added it *well* after the fact...again, why?

@Mr. zuskunks

Thank you for that userstyles mod, it definitely made it a lot better, kudos.

The layout of the site is not an improvement, ads seem to take up more space (thank god for adblocker) the layout is less functional and requires constant scrolling, the new thumbnails are too large, searching for mods is by far less friendly by either being hidden or nonexistant, every page requires constant scrolling.

The new layout is simply bad, and the fact that recomendations to make is even half passable are coming from either (ironically) a mod to improve the site, or people needing to alter their computer for this unpleasant user experience should be itself telling that it is a mistake.

As far as this thread goes, I have had to adjust my ignore settings to be able to read through it to get rid of reponses that literally take up most of numerous pages. I went through page by page only to find out that in htis entire thread, one user makes up around 15% of all posts, and usually by being insulting to other posters, trying to invalidate them without substance.

To the guy in charge of the site. Look at what you have created, if all your users have to modify their machines to make your site passable, is your new layout a success? Or have you made the nexus into a bethesda game that needs modders to fix it for you?

What was the point of the new layout?

*sigh*

Did you read the OP? You're still new here, so don't worry about it--everyone gets one.

Just check out the OP here, and look through the Site News posts in the forum. That will give you the whys, and yes, there is a very good reason for it. It wasn't done just for the sake of change.

:)
