As was stated on a previous topic, the smithing is realy messed up now.

I made a new character, by the time I got to Riverwood she was level 13.

talked to Advar and did the "need any help" topic

smithed a dagger = smithing goes from 16 to 44 :wallbash:

sharpen the dagger = smithing goes to 64

make a hide helmet = smithing jumps to 94 >:(

make the hide helmet a better fit = smithing at 100

went from level 13 to 22 smithing 4 items o_O , I tried to upgrade Orkish armor after selecting perks up to Daedric and it says i don't have the Perk to upgrade this  . good thing I didn't save the game.

Can't wait to see what they do to mess it up more trying to fix it, yes I am an eternal optimist :P

Ver 1.5 list Here is what ver 1.5 was supposed to do, i guess they didn't test it at all

The patch adds a collection of new melee kill animations that’ll let you finish off Skyrim’s denizens with extra flair. The patch also adds kill cams for projectile weapons and spells, which look a lot like Fallout 3′s dramatic long-shot cam. Shooting men off precarious perches is much more satisfying when you get to watch them topple to their doom in super slow motion.

To install the patch, select “Skyrim beta” from the beta participation section in your Steam settings menu. It’s in beta, so it might be a good idea to backup your saves before making the switch, just in case. Here’s the full changelog.

New features

New cinematic kill cameras for projectile weapons and spells

New kill moves and animations for melee weapons

Shadows on grass available (PC)

Smithing skill increases now factor in the created item’s value

Improved visual transition when going underwater

Improved distance LOD transition for snowy landscapes

Bug fixes

General crash fixes and memory optimizations

Fixed issue with Deflect Arrows perk not calculating properly

In “A Cornered Rat,” the death of certain NPCs no longer blocks progression

Fixed issue where Farkas would not give Companion’s quests properly

Fixed crash when loading saves that rely on data that is no longer being loaded

Followers sneak properly when player is sneaking

Fixed issue with weapon racks not working properly in Proudspire Manor

Arrows and other projectiles that were stuck in objects in the world now clean up properly

Fixed issue where “Rescue Mission” was preventing “Taking Care of Business” from starting properly

Fixed issue where certain NPCs would fail to become Thieves Guild fences

Fixed issue in “Diplomatic Immunity” where killing all the guards in the Thalmor Embassy before starting the quest would break progress

In “Hard Answers,” picking up the dwarven museum key after completing the quest, no longer restarts the quest

Killing Viola before or after “Blood on the Ice” no longer blocks progression

Fixed issue where Calixto would fail to die properly in “Blood on the Ice”

In “Waking Nightmare” fixed occasional issue where Erandur would stop pathing properly

Fixed issue where letters and notes with random encounters would appear blank

Fixed rare issue where dialogue and shouts would improperly play

Lydia will now offer marriage option after player purchases Breezehome in Whiterun

Fixed issue where if player manually mined ore in Cidhna Mine, jail time would not be served

Fixed rare issue with skills not increasing properly

Fixed issue where the Headsman’s Axe did not gain proper buff from Barbarian perk

In “A Night to Remember” it is no longer possible to kill Ysolda, Ennis or Senna before starting the quest

Fixed issue with the ebony dagger having a weapon speed that was too slow

Fixed issue with “The Wolf Queen Awakened” where backing out of a conversation with Styrr too soon would block progress

The third level of the Limbsplitter perk now properly improves all battle axes

Fixed a rare issue where Sanguine Rose would not work properly

In “Tending the Flames” King Olaf’s Verse will no longer disappear from explosions

IMHO Bethesda messed up royaly selling Oblivion to steam, as soon as they got it they messed up users and modders.

It was a nightmare with Oblivion mods and steam oblivion moving Oblivion from the Bethesda directory where it belonged to a non standard steam directory.

I didn't buy Skyrim at first because it was a steam product, I hated the fact that you had to have a steam acct to even play Skyrim, and the constant spamming of advertisements was realy annoying.

now with the auto updates of Skyrim when you are playing offline is getting close to a final straw

I wish like heck that Bethesda never dealt with steam

ok this rant of done now, might post more when i get more pissed at steam

You wont get ads and you wont be automatically updated if you set Steam to Offline. I managed to dodge this update bullet by playing this way just to avoid the ads. You wont have access to some of Steam's features, but really there is little that they have that I want.

I now have an exclusion set in my firewall. No STEAMypile trafic enters or leaves my baby here unless I allow it, on my terms. The only feature steam privides that I highly recommend is the disconnect button.

I am not interested in buying a 5$ game 4 years after its initial release date. I am not interested in further subscriptions and be subject to the data farming they do. I am not interested in what they say has to be my gaming experience. I can already see them charging you to use the games you purchased or have purchase a "premium" account with benefits and access to "high speed" servers. I got an idea. Let me get the data I paid for on a disk or a direct download. Then, let me run a user based server, if multiplayer, without having to log into some hack shop portal who's intent is questionable and who's control is absolute.

You guys complaining about Steam probably don't think much about what it takes to plan, develop, and publish a decent title or appreciate what it is to effectively market it and profit from it, even far past its life cycle. I'm very close to calling most gamers spoiled and entitled for the amount of complaining they do combined with the desire to have incredible amounts of features, services, and savings offered to them only to watch them throw it back in people's faces in contempt.

There are some bad DLC or distribution practices out there I wish to see stop, but gamers are going to buy things anyways, encouraging bad practice, or pirate.them and encourage more heavy-handed practices.

Anyways, If you think steam is bad, you should have been there when it launched. Steam had a terrible launch. I think it's an incredible network, now.

TL;DR: GET A LIFE.

Anyways - I'm still having trouble with little squares all over my screen. Been trying different sets of drivers but it's worse than ever. Very sadface.

12.1 is the drivers I rolled back to. Uninstall your current video driver by removing the ATI program. Then reinstall V12.1

I'm assuming ur on an AMD/ATI card since this is popular with the latest driver crap >.>

If you haven't already turned off AA, try that.
