Xbox One vs Gaming PC - which should I get...?

I like the feeling of playing on console, more comfortable in a way. But if it's the modding aspect you are after go with pc. Pc has more possibilities and might serve you better in the long run, beyond gaming. Edited by Niborino9409

PC. You aren't going to just want to play this game and modding is starting to grow more and more. EVERYTHING that you want or need is on PC- for free in most cases. Your modded games will look, play, and sound better than they ever will on console- with some work on your part of course. Look to get the most for your money when putting a PC together. For instance an graphics card for less money that is still comparable to the slightly better, much more expensive ones.

I want to play Doom in 2017 when it is released. Should I get it on the Xbox One, or spend £2000 odd on a gaming PC? Will the diffence in quality be vast? à¹à¸à¸à¸à¸à¸¥à¸ªà¹à¸à¹à¸

£2000 is a lot of money to play a game. If money is no object then I guess you buy the PC and an Xbox One as well. If on the other hand money means something to you, then you need to consider it more carefully.

Do you need a new PC? (for other things)

Are there many other games you want to play?

Do you want to use mods?

Looking at online prices I see you can buy Xbox One for £199 in UK. Big difference between 199 and 2000. Think carefully and do what you think is right for you. It's your money, spend it wisely.

It's a choice you'll have to make on your own. I find the question rather silly, to be honest, because buying a new PC or console based on wanting to play one game sounds a touch foolish. Seeing this was your very first post and you haven't been seen since let's me suspect the question was trollish.

There's easier ways to find out if the difference between console and PC will be "vast". It's called the Interwebs where Google can be a very good friend and you don't need to make an account at a modding website to perform a search...

In case you struggle with Google: the difference IS vast, in favour of the PC, but only when getting a beefy GPU (that's Graphical Processing Unit aka video card, for the less informed).

By the way, with two-thousand quid, you can buy both a computer *AND* a console, so I don't really see what the problem would be...

PC gonna be way better and you won't get to use mods on console DOOM. I will have a hard time if I switch back even if just for losing SSD's extra speed.

I agree too given the weird ______________ thing he had which is a (probably dodgy) external link.

Also DOOM released 2016.

£2000 is way more than you need. Less than half that will get you a PC like mine most likely which will max out 4K no problem for Doom. If you play at 1080p you can pay even less by getting GTX 1070/1060 or an AMD. If you go for 1080p I imagine even like £400 would be enough and if you've got some stuff that could still be used it will be even less. An i7 8700k with 1080ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD build probably would get closer to that figure but will still be below. The only way you'll spend that much is going Titan XP with i9 and IMO there's little to no point as Volta will be here in a year or 2 so you can just get a 1180/2080/whatever they call it, it'll likely be about as good as the current titan if not better. You won't need titan + i9 for anything out today unless you perhaps go for 8K ultra and for "future proofing" just wait for Volta.

Honestly yeah if I had £2000 laying around I'd just buy a 1080ti, 8700k, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, a PS4 Pro with a compatible 500GB SSD for it.

You asking this question on a PC modding forum, of course, most people would answer PC  even I would answer PC ( imo mouse had better accuracy than controller analog stick for FPS game, but I still use a controller to play some action game like Witcher 3, Dragon age, AC etc... it felt smoother )

So, I recommend that you should post this on beth net too https://bethesda.net/community/ since there're a lot of console players over there. after that, I think you should've gathered enough information on which one to choose. Good luck!
