My computer has a small 100 GB C Drive and a large 1 TB D drive so all my games are installed on the D drive I decided to try Skyrim SE, I have been playing a heavily modded Skyrim with Mod manager since it came out. I discover Vortex and decided to try to get Skyrim SE to work on it. it's been nothing but a fight. I have installed Wrye Bash several times and every time I open Vortex it shows as not installed ie a grey box. I've installed mods from nexus and another site go through the whole installation process only for them apparently not to be seen got Fnis to install after several attempts but Creature pack doesn't seem to be showing. For me it's been an over complicated frustrating disaster. I have no clue by looking at it what's actually installed and what isn't. It may be obsolete now but I am going to uninstall vortex and go back to using Mod manager, unless I can find written, not a video I have to keep rewinding, step by step instructions that I can have open on one screen while I work Vortex on my main screen.

Care to share with everybody why you necroed an 8 month old REVIEW thread to post your problem in it, instead of starting your own topic?

The fact you did this kind of explains why you're having such a difficult time with Vortex.

also, there's a sticky right at the top of the forum that has the FAQ, and other helpful links to the Wiki etc.

Because it said reviews. I wasn't asking for help. I've learned the hard way not to do that, because no I don't post to forms but once every couple of years, maybe, because I find most people on them aren't helpful they just chew people out for making mistakes. So you made your point and I won't come back simple. So here's a simple review. I found Vortex to be over complicated and difficult thus I am uninstalling it and going back to the more familiar Mod Manager. Done.

Done...

And at some point you'll be stuck with a no longer working piece of software. It's just a matter of time. The world doesn't stop just because some people don't want to accept changes.

Moving to a new software is a lot of work, it's more than inconvinient that to have to learn it, to understand it's philosophy, the new ways the developers have solved problems that you thought were already properly solved by the old tool.

I get it, really, I do. I've done it so many times in my life, I can't even begin to count it. Most prominent for me: git. So much harder to understand than any software revision tool I've been working with. I hated it in the beginning. But it's also one of the strongest pieces of software in existance (in that area).

It's the same with Windows, with Office, with whatever tools you use in your life. Get over it. Sticking to the old software just because you refuse to get familiar with something new is not gonna do you any good in the long run.

Hi,

As has been pointed out, it makes little sense to revive a thread from 8 months ago when Vortex was still in early alpha to give your review of the current build. Further, this is the support forum, intended for people who would like help with using Vortex - which you pointed out, you don't want. Reviews of this kind are better placed in Vortex Discussion: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/4316-vortex-discussion/

That being, if you would like to expand upon what exactly does not seem to be working for you, and/or if you would like to request support, feel free to open another thread in this forum, though I am closing this due to the abovementioned. Thank you for understanding.
