Retention times on this site are its saving grace imo. We're debating the future of the CC and time will tell what happens. In the meantime, you might want to refer to my posting history on everything from net neutrality to Trump's proposed "tariffs" on a country that dictates the value range of their own "currency" (which I explained almost a year ago on this site). What's lacking here is intelligence and foresight not hearing.

IMO Bethesda's problems will continue as long as they insist on hiring emotionally disturbed six year-olds for corporate leadership and mangement. E.g. Pete Hines:

His last two quotes in this article make no legal sense whatsoever. Whether you believe it (or admit it) or not.

"The risk is removed for [Creation Club contractors] because they're getting paid and treated like a real external developer, working alongside us," Hines said. They wanna go do mods in their free time? Well, they still can, because this is a job, and that's mods, and the two just aren't the same."

Wish I could be a fly on the wall when a hearing judge explains to him that legally the two are very much the same. Hines is fundamentally clueless on the concepts of practical slavery and theft. He either doesn't understand it, or he does understand but simply doesn't care. From his quotes I'm guessing or at least hoping it's the first of those. In our country private companies are required to hire people for employment under a signed or verbal employment contract. Not video game EULAs.

Again I stand on my posting history and only time will tell what happens with the CC. I refuse to engage online personal attacks even in gang bang form, when nobody including me knows the future. The majority here seem to be advocating implied or implicit employment, that virtual slavery doesn't fly in our country and God help us if it ever does. Bethesda are attempting to practically steal 10+ years of work by countless thousands of modders, and pay them $0.25 on the dollar as a token of the company's appreciation. Can't wait to see how it flies in our courts. IMO the problem isn't the CC, it was the decision to include any former game titles in it. I've been saying it for years, if Bethesda or any company wish to try new models for product development and revenue sharing etc, let them do so with new product. I've got nothing conceptually against the ideas, just their retroactive application. Edited by TheMastersSon

Thing is, It's not about the future at all, it's a present matter of completely normal contract work, calling it "virtual slavery" for some reason is utter nonsense. Saying they are stealing any amount of years of the work of modders is utter nonsense because no already released mod is being stolen and published in CC. Saying what they pay people in creation club (and particulary saying it's that ridiculous amount) is utter nonsese because, basically, you aren't in it, so you have no idea of what you are talking about, as with everything you've said so far. Stand by your posting history if you wish, just know it's complete garbage.

" because no already released mod is being made into CC content"

Thanks for the chuckle. So in my article reference, please explain the practical or substantive difference between the suit of armor downloaded from the CC, and the same suit of armor downloaded from the free mod site. And can you please stop with the personal attacks until you answer this question, because I think it's what a judge or jury will hopefully wish to know. "Rewritten from scratch"? Please. It's practical theft.

Indeed stupidity is a sad thing. As for the originality of the content in CC, you mean the chinese stealth suit? or the hellfire power armor? Mmm I wonder who designed those originally, I have it in the tip of my tongue.... who was it?... OH I GOT IT! It was Bethesda. Sure, theft, absolutely. This legal issue you are making here between theft and slavery is just ridiculous.
