Unwelcome comments

I'm using the Nexus since Morrowind, and in all this years i saw a lot of wonderful mods taken down and great modders ceasing their action because of trolling, rude comment, people asking continuosly the same thing etc.

Is it possible to improve the mod comment's section giving the authors the possibility to lock unpleasant users from commenting their works like in youtube happen?

this could be an incentive to keep the proper attitude.

Speech's right doesn't mean duty to listen...

Thanks

Liberal use of the report button has been rumored to be effective at removing trolls :)

Also if you are premium, you can instant up/down rep comments on your own mods/images etc by 99 making them hidden until the staff do there kung foo, nice little bonus feature to premium.

I think being able to block a user from downloading or adding any further comments would be a good idea, giving authors the ability to remove comments wouldn't be so good, that could abused by someone who has uploaded a malicious file or someone who doesn't want people to know how buggy or broken their mod is. The report button is very good for deleting moronic comments.

Often to be annoying there's no need to make something causing to be reported or get banned, and liberality means also have the power to select our interlocutors.

Think about stalking... i can walk aroud a city, everywhere: it's my right. But walking always around a person.. this could be.. inconvenient, even if i'm making nothing more than be around this person.

broken and maliciuos mods normally has to be reported, i'm talking about actions whom are in the grey line between the construcive comment or joking and the mere trolling, and in this case the only judge could be the person who suffer this

i dont know about this -99 reputation LOL i thimk i just begin to use it :)

Oh it comes in very handy, sometimes you have to use it twice, once on the original comment and a second time when they complain about the red arrows, they tend to take the hint after that.

obviously this is possible to implement - but the effort may outweigh the outcome

none the less . . .

read a bit on the forum

then consider how the banned people would react to

"censorship" and the loss of "free speech"

suspect this alone would double the workload on the moderators

(BTW strangely enough, I rather like the suggestion - just think the trouble it would stir up would be exponential over time)
