sopmac45
âHi guys, âHave any of you updating mods via Vortex ? Do I need to do something extra or just click on Updating Mods button and Vortex will do the rest ? Will this screw up with my load order or game ? âBack in NMM, we have to download the new version, delete the previous and enable the new one; is this process done automatically by Vortex ? âThanks so much ...
Olivir2019
No, you still have to download the new version - and it will be a separate mod in the list. Which for me is better solution, as I can keep the previous version just in case. I suspect that the Check for mod updates button did function for me only the first time and not later, but that I have put into the feedback. Thanks so much J.O.D. for your help ... and thank you that you already entered your feedback .... in relation to my question, well, basically we need to do the same thing we were doing back in NMM. Guess is not a big deal anyway. Thought that Vortex will do this automatically.

A quick tip for people who are trying out Vortex but are still also using NMM, you can store old mods quickly and efficiently with NMM by making a folder within NMM and call it "zOLD" (so it will stay at the bottom of the folder/category list.)Then, when you download a newer version of a mod, and uninstall the old version and install the NEW version, you can then Right Click on the old mod and pick "Move to zOLD", and the mod will disappear from you current mod category list and instead show up in th4e zOLD category with all your other old mods) That's how I kept an older version of mods until I knew it was safe to delete them

I have no Skryim files pending in NMM. I am only keeping Fallout 4 game in NMM for now till I know more about Vortex and once that happens, I will remove Fallout 4 completely ( I will not import it ), start a fresh game in Vortex and completely delete and be done with NMM.
