Console not enabled for removing persistent corpses?

There are two corpses, a raider and a radiated dog, just over the Sanctuary bridge. Those corpses are persistent. I've read there are many such corpses throughout the game. Kinda makes some sense, although I don't get why they don't vanish some time after being looted. Anyway....

I tried to target them, open the console, and use DISABLE, but nothing happens. I'm wondering if console commands must be enabled via an INI tweak, as in other games?

Thanks!

Hmm - I don't think you need to enable console. I reinstalled my game a couple of months ago. And I do not recall doing anything to the .ini files but for enabling mods. I usually throw the guy into the river when I'm done looting. Just because...... But the dog is for some odd reason too heavy for you. However I have no problems using "disable" there - or anywhere else.

Still - there are mods out there that do away with them for you. Like this one. I admit that I haven't tried it as I always use console. But in your case it might be handy.

Should you be using Place Anywhere, it has an extended scrap function (when hitting the "ins" key) that lets you scrap (almost) anything, corpses are among those. There's also the Scrap Dead Things mod that gives ingredients when scrapping dead bodies. Doesn't always work, though, but does an adequate job most of the time. You get fertiliser when scrapping Raiders and such, marble when scrapping found settlers or Minutemen.

For doing away with stuff via console, better use the markfordelete command. Just make a new save before using the command and a quick-save right after, in case the game crashes upon re-load. This can happen when using the command and not getting far enough away from the spot where the deleting took place before saving and reloading.
