vertex23
It's a texture bug. I use to get it all the time back when Skyrim only used 2gb of RAM, but since it was increased and I can use all my cpu, it hasn't happened again. *reads your sig*You only have 2gb of ram? That might be the problem.
bishon
I have 4 GBs of RAm and this happened to me after I installed a mod with custom body textres. When I unistalled it,it took away all the female actor textures and the female bodys are purple ever since.Reverting to older saves hasn't helped. Brandy1123
You may be having texture issues with a Race mod. Make sure you have compatible races/body types and the right modification of each. Several body types (and races) often required specific (other) mods to be loaded as well. Make sure you have them in the correct load order. Each one of your mods will tell you if you need something else with it and if there are compatability issues as well. IsharaMeradin
If you have the textures in place when the game initially loads but then they begin to not be rendered after a random amount of time. Its not so much a problem with how much RAM you have but a problem with how Skyrim is set up to run. No matter how much RAM you have there is a portion reserved for the system and the rest for the game up to a limit it (4GB it seems). When the game gets close to filling up the allocated RAM it begins to not render things or even behave properly. The best thing you can do is to save often and occasionally exit the game, reboot the computer or try third party tools to 'clear the RAM'. ntblood
I have this issue now. Like HINI posted, starting a new game fixes it. It was after I updated a handful of mods including the skeleton but not the skin textures or body type. Another thing is I don't think this has to do with Ram as starting a new game fixes it (have to start over again!) and also if you go under water your skin displays correctly up to the water line. Strange. Wish I didn't have to start a new game again to fix this.

ntblood
I'm 3 years back reading it. Although I added on over 2 years after thread was started. Interesting that maybe I didn't have to restart. Luckily I don't have the issue anymore. Someone else that might have it can use everyone's input as reference. Thanks @GameProduction
