Not This Earth
One 11.1[14]

Lucky Eddie found himself with a new mission and that was to assist in the hunt for zombie outbreaks and reasons behind those zombie outbreaks. So it was that he found himself blasting away at undead things as they shambled quickly along a cave tunnel below the supercity of Perth. The cave tunnel had been enlarged, and reinforced, by organised crime black market smugglers bring unregistered goods literally beneath the eyes of officials.

The only crime syndicate scum he had found were the dead, shredded, bodies of fed upon criminals. All had been enhanced and augmented to some extent; all had been well body-armoured and armed; all had killed a lot of shamblers; all had died. Eddie had grabbed up a lethal black autoboomer that fired off special 20mm calibre caseless shells and-or minirockets. It was portable artillery for infantry.

There was something undead down there; it was far more powerful than were mere zombies. Eddie blew apart the head of another zombie and watched it die unnaturally even as he shot down another crumbling 'failure'.

The vampire, he was sure it was one of those dangerous things, was observing him. His own psychic-spiritual abilities detected her even as she coldly stalked him at a safe distance. The zombies were being directed by her but it was as if she was testing him for that trying to throw serious attacks at him. What was she up to?

The vampire voice sounded as if she was physically close to him, which it was not. It was inhuman and chillingly cold. Despite all of the romantic fiction about vampires, they were not at all romantic in nature. Nor did they care about having sex with humans. "We did not create these zombie outbreaks; they draw too much attention for our good. We have our blood thralls, we harvest blood with out killing, we have our own blood-banks and some substitution with synthetic blood. We were the ones who tried to kill the US President because he is not what he appears to be."

Lucky Eddie frowned. "What is he?"

The vampire spat the answer out in cold rage. "Doppelganger, a powerful and ancient one that has gained greater tolerance to even bright-hot sunshine.!"

Not This Earth

One 11.2[15]

Lucky Eddie was surprised to find that he trusted the undead creature. "So we are looking at a doppelganger take over?"

The vampire responded. "No but a doppelganger faction is serving an even more ancient and powerful form of undead. That is a lich, perhaps even a Lichking or Lichqueen, and one able and willing to use advanced hitech. We vampires, of many factions, do not know more than some general information of what is happening."

There was a sudden scream of mind-body-spirit as something killed the vampire with brutal strength, speed and efficiency. Even as this happened other super-assassins were catching up to Lucky Eddie and he was damned glad to both see them and 'sense' them. He 'sensed' that they were highly alert as he was and sensibly fearful of what was out there that could kill a vampire so easily, especially one that was a veteran as Eddie had 'sensed' she was.

They were joined by a psychic-mage and other specialists but they found not even a trace of the thing that had destroyed the vampire or any trace of the vampire herself.

Doctor Who!? Escape: Four

One 4.1[4]

The finding of the struggling group of survivors, a mixture of humans and nonhumans, was an interesting surprise by TiSuzane's avatar. The survivors occupied another, bigger, Subway Station with a mixture of terminal facilities, platforms, train tunnels, tram tunnels and even street tunnels along with walkway tunnels. There were even some shops, some government offices and odd features.

The survivors were a mixture of humans, gorilla and ape humanoids and exotic cyborgs. They had done what they could to get service-support machinery up and running, to have functioning service robots cleaning and maintaining network-systems. They had gathered up resources and had built up defences and security.

TiSuzane found some more clues to what the plague had done for a few of the survivors had odd scars, and-or red marks on parts of their bodies. 3Dposters, on walls, warned of the plague and gave instructions of practical survival ideas, of locations of sanctuaries and other supposedly important information. The survivalists had tried to brighten up the place with artworks, posters, some splashes of paint and other efforts with mixed success.

TiSuzane returned to the TARDIS and informed the Doctor of what she had found. She stood with him close to a special secondary console where he had been examining some spare power network modules. He smiled at her.

"TiSuzane, we could assist them but I suggest that we do so in local guise. I want to know more about what took place here."

TiSuzane nodded. "The plague killed people or turned people into monsters of some kind or failed to do either; at least some people turned out to be immune. Those with the scars, the marks, appeared to have gotten sick and then to have improved in health."

The Doctor put back the modules and stood to face her. It was obvious that he was curious about what his granddaughter had found. "I suggest we examine all the data that we have gathered on this group and their subway station home."

Doctor Who!? Escape: Five

One 5.1[5]

TiSuzane took upon the guise of a travelling trader, taking with her two K9 dog robots disguised as normal dogs and four androids disguised as two humans and two chimp humanoids. Disguised almost as locals, trying not to seem too much the same but as people travelling from abroad, they came in a large electric golfcar, with six wheels, and a small electric golfcar with four wheels. They came body-armoured and armed being defensive aggressive only and making it clear that is what they were.

TiSuzane, calling herself Suzanne, went forward to meet a local envoy who was a big stocky man in work clothes and body-armour. He had light brown skin and short black hair but part of his face was one big red mark. He had two bodyguards but they stood back from him, and to one side; they had guns but had them slung over shoulders.

He spoke. "You must come far from local. We have only few working electrics here in the Boonburgs. Your stuff looks pretty new."

TiSuzane nodded. "We have manufacturing up and going again. We are producing machines."

The man scowled. "If that was true the plague would be attracted to you. Wasn't a virus, like most people assumed, it was something far worse that caused the plague. It changed people, sometimes openly but sometimes secretly. Didn't touch the older type androids and animamans for unknown reasons."

The Timelords had found evidence, using very advanced technologies, that the plague had been caused by a kind of cyborg-nanobot that was part biological, part machinery and complete with tiny supercomputers. Their own nanobots, microbots, macrobots had found the evidence when sent out to collect any along with the drones.

TiSuzane nodded. "We have found ways to protect ourselves, and our advanced machines, from the plague. It sent computers, and robots, rogue or took control of them. It's origin is off-world. We need more data to understand what is going on here. My people come from another world, a space colony secretly founded by folks from the OldEarth." She spoke the truth but not the whole truth. OldEarth was the ancient home world of the Timelords and Gallifrey was their second, though still ancient, home world.

The man arched his eyebrows in surprise. "Wow, somehow I believe you. This is the NewEarth, also known as Mars, a partly failed attempt at Terraforming that led to the construction of a world city that you are now standing in."

Follows on from last post so you may need to do some rereading from that post.

Doctor Who!? Escape: Five

One 5.2[6]

A world city? The Timelord nodded as if in thought. "Were any areas sealed off successfully?'

The man shrugged. "The cyborg-nanobots had ways of getting past all but those most well made, hitech, ones that the sanctuaries put up. We have not had communications with any of them for... a very long time. Most of them were not in this Zone but on the other side of a wide Zone Break that was also a series of nature reserves, farming areas, plantations and protectorates. I wonder how we survived being infested by the cyborg-nanobots, or bioborgites as we call them."

She shook her head. "Some of you are infested but the 'bioborgites' do not seem to be having any influence upon those few; unless of course they are waiting to be triggered. I suggest that I be allowed to examine your people. I will not tell you which of your people may have the sleeper infestation because they are not guilty of what has been done to them or at least there is no evidence that they are."

TiSuzane changed subject. "From our ship we had good views of this world, of its worldcity. This Zone is dark during the night, except for a sprinkling of lights, but a few Zones have many lights. Yet that could mean that the bioborgites have made network-systems function in those well lit areas. I think that you have earned yourselves some fine trade-goods that I would only have to take orders for, back to my ship, where they would be manufactured."

The big man grinned. "We could always use a few extra resources. I could use a nice pair of binoculars. Welcome to our home, what there is of it."

TiSuzane smiled.

ANGELIC TO LOOK UPON

She was angelic, to look upon, at least from a distance

where one did not see the coldness of her eyes

or hear the cruel selfishness of her words

Yet the masses did adore her

or was it her or an illusion that they

wanted so much to be infatuated with?

She met their needs

and they met her desires

but none of it was real

Or was that even important?

The Curse of Quamaire
One 43.1[43]{43}

StarMarshal Drake Septum established a beachhead of Imperial Forces on the island and began negotiations with Aratoron leaders about forming an alliance against future threats that they all knew were coming.

DelentaTi, and AvastiaTye, led their group away from the cities of the TwistedOnes and further along the Pale Pathways until, thankfully, they were able to leave them behind. LalaTama was still amongst the enlarged group. The Pale Pathways had allowed them to save much time, in their travels to the Network-Towers, but had been harrowing.

CaembraZiv, and EllessTane, were still trying to prepare for a larger assault by the coming swarms of undead and the Great Enemy of what had once been an ancient tentacular. Yet EllessTane was starting to doubt that the great undead tentacular was really the 'Great Enemy' that they all rightfully feared but was but a powerful 'thrall' of the real prime threat.

Paranormal activity was increasing across Quamaire but not all of it was evil and-or dangerous. Dead bodies would become temporarily reanimated then die permanently. Ghosts would wail about a coming great threat. Wraiths would try to frighten people.

Antivampires, damphirs and other such entities began to appear on the island.

Just how many islands did Quamaire really consist of?
