Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/441px-Da_Vinci_Vitruve_Luc_Viatour-1-1.jpg In this post are a repost and a new posted episode of the story Not This Earth. Not This EarthOne 19.1[23] 'They' wanted the team to track down a seemingly unimportant petty official except that the mission was given high priority status. They were not told why they had to find, protect and return the woman but only that they had to get her to one of the Green Zones where the undead had been sealed off from. They were given a home address, other addresses, Email addresses and other data. Trouble was that the home address was in the middle of a Red Zone swarming with the undead and other threats; they were rogue humans, dangerous unlifen, living monsters and those insane with strange powers. A paramilitary helicopter, disguised as a civilian machine, dropped them off deep in the Red Zone. It came in quick and departed the same, never switching off its electric motors of its duel blades. In growing daylight, when the undead were retreating into shelter, and became generally weaker, the team began to move quickly through an area of mild luxury terrace houses squeezed together behind high security walls and small gardens, front and back. Not bothering to be disguised, they wore grey-brown body-armour along with light flexible armoured fatigues along with special helmets, gloves and boots. They moved across linked terrace roofs, that in practice made on big roof. They darted past solar hot water systems, vents, solar power arrays, power wind cylinders, skylights and other features. It seemed no undead had gotten up there but they were extra careful anyway. It was good that they were extremely cautious for soon they ran into a powerful threat. Not This EarthOne 20.1[24] A car shot through the air and SWAT Troopers dived desperately to one side in their police assault exopower armour. The monstrous creature was undead but was no mere zombie. It was a zolem, a hulking 'golem like' humanoid that visibly rotted and regenerated even as it attacked the living. The hurled vehicle crashed right through the front of a jewellery shop, easily smashing armoured glass meant to withstand attempts to rob the establishment. It was night but city lights took away much of the darkness. Sirens sounded in the background as police vehicles, ambulances, fire engines and other machines responded to emergencies. There also came to them the muffled sounds of gunfire. A couple of helicopters shot through the air, in the near distance, shining spotlights down on the city below. Lucky Eddie unleashed a rocketgrenade at it and the projectile exploded, throwing the creature backwards but not as much as he hoped it would. The thing was truly terrible in its strength and this was explained by the morgue green glimmering mist that clung to it, giving it strength with the mist's own antinatural existence. Then one of the oriental triplets hit it with a bigger rocket-grenade and this time a hole was ripped in the creature and it had the good manners to die, collapsing into a soon disintegrating heap, the glimmering mist fading away even as it perished. Two SWAT Troopers were dead, three more badly wounded, and the semi-enclosed shopping mall was partly a devastated mess. The monster had come up out of a big utility hatch, bigger than any of the standard ones, with deadly surprise and speed. It had killed, and fed on, a street cleaning machine driver and two late night window shoppers before the SWAT Team had arrived. Not wanting to be asked too awkward questions, Eddie and the triplets were soon moving on to find the woman. This time they went underground, going down the very large utility hatch that the zolem had come up through from the depths of the city. Even as they did so the night was filled with the background noises of skirmishes taking place in different parts of the Red Zone that they were in. Maharg67
My mistake! Last post I spoke of Eddie, and the triplets, seeking the vampire but they already had a mission to find a mysterious petty official. http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/441px-Da_Vinci_Vitruve_Luc_Viatour-1-1.jpg Not This EarthOne 21.1[25] The home address, of Petra Trotsky, was a fairly expensive and typical middle class 'low rise' apartment surrounded by private gardens and other such apartments. What surprised the elite agents was that a well armed militia had kept the apartment secured against roving bands of crazy humans, shambling zombies and other threats. Trotsky was not there but she had been one of those who had come to believe that such a disaster was bound to happen with the increase of necromancer activity in the world; Perth, as a city, was infamous as a place where a relatively large amount of such fools gathered and did their foolish, dark, experiments. Eddie stood with Adama Trotsky, the husband of Petra who had taken on her surname as his own when they had gotten married. He was a fit, tough, ex-mercenary kind who had served with the Australian SAS and who had even been involved in skirmishes against zombies. Clearly he had come to hate the undead but he also had come to respect that they were much more of a threat than many folks saw them as; most who saw them as no real threat, had not encountered them. Adama frowned hard. "You four are more lethal killers than we SAS types could ever hope to be, even with cybernetics thrown in." Eddie shrugged. "There is always a price for everything; in our case it is reduced lifespan for being genetically engineered living weapons. Your wife was part of one of the projects that created the very first of our kind but she rebelled when she discovered what we were going to be used for; she had been promised that we would be used as special emergency workers, as fire-fighters, as dangerous environment based workers or even such as astronauts and supersonic flight pilots. Truth is, many of us have been so used but many of us have become super soldiers, super assassins and such. The higher ups want your wife but we, the superclones, will stop that from happening if your wife so wishes it to be." The triplets hid their surprise but he 'sensed'; the husband was surprised but failed to hide it. He spoke. "I do not understand!" Eddie sighed. "We superclones are planning to gain our freedom, to become full citizens and not contractual property." The oriental triplets said nothing but quietly observed some more as waiting for Eddie to explain more. Eddie did go on speaking. "I have met your wife once before. She informed me that the two of you were working for a very secret organisation that is working against the NWOF, megagovs and megacorps." Megagovs were superpower governments, of which there were three, and megacorps were huge transplanetary corporations, of which there were nine. At the top of them was the New World Order Foundation. Together they were known as the Big13. Though the megagov nations were members of the United Nations, the Big13 was not considered to be truly part of the UN cause. The man frowned. "Perhaps I am being a fool but I feel I can trust you, Lucky Eddie. Yes, we know of you but what of your companions?" Eddie nodded. "I will vouch for them!" The triplets gave him a puzzled look, wondering why he would stick his neck out for them when not so long ago they were trying to hunt him down to kill him. Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/441px-Da_Vinci_Vitruve_Luc_Viatour-1-1.jpg Not This EarthOne 21.1[25] Adama Trotsky led them through a heavily secured, much concealed, secret airlock like entrance to a small chamber. This in turn led to both a rampway tunnel, sloping downwards, and a small elevator. They took the elevator because of the necessity for speed as Adama explained that danger was approaching the building. The other man said nothing for a while but focused on the control panel, of the elevator, with its vertical row of five green buttons. Then he turned to Lucky Eddie. "What do you know about our secret organisation dedicated to fighting the Big13?" Eddie nodded. "That you are linked to the Sunlight Network." The man nodded. "Yes, we are, but what else do you know about us?" Eddie drew out his large, powerful, handgun and aimed it at the man. "There is no such thing as the Sunlight Network. Who do you, and your wife, really serve?" The man grinned. "Not those that your kind serve? Did you really think I would fall for that nonsense about a superclone revolution. In your own way you are just as much monsters as are the undead, even if you do kill them sometimes." Eddie scowled. "Sometimes? Over 50% of superclone activity, and resources, is spent dealing with the undead outbreaks through out the world. That is not just outbreaks but hunting down necromancers, and other such scum, along with participating in many programs including research development. We superclones are sick of taking on the brunt of dealing with the undead but gaining none of the rewards, or credit, for doing so; we are tired of being seen as expensive, but expendable, property." The man shook his head but then spoke even as Eddie lowered his big pistol. "Do not touch any of the green buttons; they are all just alarm triggers." He took out a small plastic device and, aiming it at a particular corner of the ceiling, pressed a button on it. At once the elevator halted, went up for a short time, stopped and the door opened up again. Edited March 31, 2015 by Maharg67

DC Madness: TwoOne 2.1(3){3} The Order of Steel, that had once been part of the Brotherhood of Steel, had a few enemies in Centropolis but so did all factions. In the heavily fortified DC Citadel, Elder Owen Lyons was observing a holographic map projected onto a basic metal table with a surface designed to better support clear holographic images. A holotape projector was creating the map with its troubling data. He spoke to other Elders there, along with others such as Elders, Elder Advisers, Sages and Scribes. "The new supermutant rising, in the DC National Mall, is most disturbing. We already have supermutants troubling us from the Lamplight Mountains area, from the TekVault there that very high radiation stopped us from getting into. We have Raiders, including Reavers and Ragers, coming from the East. We have the damned Enclaven coming down from roughly north, from Americanada. Then there is the DC Republic, the DC Syndicates and other threats." The DC Republic Heartlands were in the same area that the Order of Steel had come from after splitting from the more orthodox, restricted and hierarchical Brotherhood of Steel. Reports indicated increasing skirmishes between Steel Brothers and Republican Guardsmen in Nefornia, in an area that bordered Neochina. Elder Owen Lyons spoke again, after a short but noticeable pause. One could hear the concern in his voice that was normally much more neutral in tone. "We must discover just where the supermutant newcomers are coming from and what their intentions are. We also need to do what we can to counter the new threat while not forgetting about other necessary programs, and projects, that we need to support." Then he sighed. "As for the time-capsule discovered by one of my daughters, Sarah Lyons, so far it has proven to be impossible to force open. This is no concern for in two days it will open anyway. All precautions will be taken in case this is a very clever enemy trick." DC Madness: ThreeOne 3.1(4){4} The time capsule was no clever enemy trick but its contents turned out to be of much stranger nature. For in it was a 3Dcomputer of very advanced nature, more so than anything that the Order of Steel knew of except in the form of glimpses of the Age of Scientific Miracles. There was much valuable data but the shocker was a message that showed that who had ever buried the time capsule knew much of the present situation and also that the Order of Steel would find the time capsule. There were other items of importance such as valuable information as print-outs, smartcardkeys to useful locations, to special secretive locations, and some holotapes. The outpost bunker had a working holotape projector and it turned out that two holotapes were documentaries of the amazing city, of Centropolis, before it became a sea of ruins. The city, citystate, were the pinnacle of human scientific achievement, or so the public relations driven holotapes would have one believe. While there was much information, Sarah quickly picked up that there were missing facts and most likely both falsehoods and half truths; there were glimpses of important contradictions in the narratives. The interviews all seemed to be very staged, even artificial, in nature. Then there was another holotape, with a much more rough production, where a small group of masked people spoke quickly, quietly, of officially hidden atrocities, other dark events, corruption and the influence of a powerful dangerous factions; they were the TekCorps, the DC-Syndicates, the Enclaven and the Cult Conspiracy. Berserk killers had rampaged, infamous NukaCola had done terrible things to people, there were stories of cyborg experiments and much else. There were also stories of the DC being at cold war with the rest of the human world, of United Nations Peacekeepers patrolling the land, sky and waters close to the exterior of the great dome; these accounts went totally against DC Government accounts of peaceful, productive, relationships taking place with the outside realm. It was clear that the masked people were fearful of being caught, having had made the holotape, but by who was not mentioned. The fourth, and last, holotape had no narration but was a series of recordings of different areas such as some kind of large (abandoned looking) underground research development complex, part of the DC Government Parliament Complex, a terrible glimmering green mist with armoured hazmat suit wearing figures destroying it with unknown kinds of lasers, and what looked to be an amazingly beautiful fantasy garden surrounded by electric fences, topped with razor wire; there were also power armoured guards along with security robots and turrets. Sarah Lyons soon understood that the contents, of the time capsule, could easily change everything in DC. Edited July 2, 2015 by Maharg67
