DC Madness: FiveOne 4.1(5){6} JackOman, of the DC-Regulators, crouched in his dust jacket outfit and aimed his powerful scan-binoculars at the fast moving Steel Troopers hover vehicles. They were no threat, far from it, to Centropolis settlers or those like the peaceful ghoul like rhouls or to the tribal seminomads or others that caused less troubles. They were a powerful new faction that was needed to help counter against the supermutants, raiders and Enclaven butchers. For such machines to move so quickly, so openly, in the Wastelands indicated that they were in a great hurry to get somewhere; in this case it was to the DC-Citadel that was once the biggest, heaviest, of the DC's military citadels. Yet the convoy, of five machines, would first halt at the Order of Steel Outpost of Fort Metallica. The name had come from some historically obscure musical band that had something to do with 'strong metal', hence the choosing of it as the name of the outpost. Around him were other elite DC-Regulators of Team DCRA1. Like him they wore dusters and like him they were heavily armed but most often with the same kind of heavy, rugged, autorifle complete with a grenadeshell launcher. One had an arrow missile launcher and another had a spin-shotgun with six barrels. The radio operator had only a large autopistol and was to be protected by the others as was the medic. Then JackOman shook his head and spoke to the others through helmet the two-way radios. "Clever, very clever, if dangerous. Those machines are a decoy trick. They already have some raiders and Enclaven infiltrators following them." Sammy spoke out, her voice grating thanks to an old injury. "Don't forget a couple of platoons of Talon Mercenaries of the thug-merc variety. Least of the threats." JackOman paused before responding. "The two platoons of thug-mercs, what reports have you had on them? Any briefings?" Sammy responded. "A new one came in from some friendly tribal scouts but I have not had a chance to give it a careful check yet. I am now putting it up on my helmet side screen. Oh damned, the tribal scouts state that the supposed thug-mercs move wrong for mere thug-mercs and their equipment is not all correct. They are fakes moving too quick, too expertly, and might be elite soldiers. Could be Talon Mercenaries of their elites, could be Troopers of Steel, could be Enclaven deep infiltrator soldiers but.... they could be Steel Troopers as you picked up in that way you have of doing." JackOman nodded, to himself as if answering an internal question. "We will go and intercept the fake mercenaries. Sammy, always examine the briefings, even if you have to make it quick." Sammy sighed. "Okay, boss!" JackOman: "Just call me 'JackOman!" DC Madness: SixOne 5.1(6){7} Around the group stretched an area of rubble, of mutated plants and areas of muddy water from the last rains. Shooms were tall thin softly glowing mushroom like plants and there were gnarled muttfruit bushes. A big radsnake had dug a burrow into a small sloping area, of hard ground, but there was no visible sign of the critter. It was growing darker and the deathclaws were coming out to play. There were savage ghouls in the area but not a heavy concentration of them. Sarah Lyons examined JackOman and shook her head in wonder. "So you are the infamous JackOman who the DC Syndicates hate and fear." JackOman grinned mildly. "Not just them but plenty of gangers, bandits, cannibals and other Wastelands scum. Not those raiders, they don't get scared by anything or so it seems." The Steel Trooper Officer grimaced. "Those raiders are criminally insane! Why have you intercepted us, Regulator!" JackOman shrugged. "Just curious why elite Steel Troopers would try so hard to pretend to be thug-mercs but fail. Locals saw through your disguise real quick. We can help you, though we be humble yokel locals and you be wondrous Steel Troopers." She snorted. "We found a time capsule that somebody buried in the National Mall area before Doomsday. If you assist us to get it safely to the DC Citadel than we will reward the Regulators with a package of resources. I will also request that the Elders share at least some of the valuable information from the documentation. The Regulators will also gain from our find, as will others." JackOman nodded. "What I have heard of you, and 'sense' of you, has me trusting in you. You have an agreement. Anyway I am curious to see what is in that time capsule of yours." Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/c85bdd26-4476-41cb-8dd5-e716f922c8c3_zpsad552c6b.jpg DC Madness: SevenOne 6.1[7]{8} Related to the generally aggressive ghouls were defensive aggressive rhouls who would normally be peaceful if not provoked. They were more intelligent than ghouls, like aggressive zhouls that were also more intelligent than ghouls. Then there were passive yhouls that often lived with other kinds, gaining protection for work. Even the zhouls would not attack the yhouls for there was some kind of unspoken agreement between all kinds of 'ghoula'. All ghoula had been created through some unknown processes making them different from radmans, who were a human version of rad-organisms. The expedition, heading towards the DC Citadel, was amazed to run into large groups of ghoula, of different kind, all heading in the same direction. With them were moving twisted trogs, radmans and humans that were so dehumanised as to be known generally as subhumans. With them moved rad-creatures such as big radroaches, radroaches, radcats and more kinds. JackOman was concerned, 'sensing' that the creatures were seeking a safer place to go and that could only mean a big threat was coming to the area but what sort of big threat? The Enclaven, the raiders, the supermutants, and other known threats had not caused such reactions. Only one thing he knew of that had done so was a superstorm. The Steel Troopers were in their regular power armour, that had been carried by a lightly armoured wheeled carry-robot. They were clearly happy to be so and yet still had managed to move with surprising stealth. Now they slowed, along with the Regulators, as their travelling was interrupted by large groups of ghoula, rad-creatures and others. The fortified settlement, of TripleTowers, was battening down for a possible superstorm as an unnatural weather quietness fell upon the area. Instruments also forewarned coming trouble such as barometers. Wastelands survival including being prepared for such terrible weather events. Not only locals were sheltering in the big settlement, with its three low hulking towers of great strength, but also traders, nomads and others who sought strong shelter. TripleTowers was generally classed as about a 'seven' on a one to ten scale of good law enforcing, justice serving and law making settlements. It was almost amongst the best of the DC Union of Settlers, DCUS, settlements but RivetCity, Canterbury Commons and Megaton were all classed as 'nines'. Still, Sugartown was at 'five' and Brownburg was a questionable 'three'. There were other, smaller, settlements of less status in the DCUS. TripleTowers authorities welcomed the expedition with open arms; partly because they were glad to have them and partly because they feared to not make them welcome. Both the Regulators, and Order of Steel, had fierce reputations. Edited July 2, 2015 by Maharg67
Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/c85bdd26-4476-41cb-8dd5-e716f922c8c3_zpsad552c6b.jpg DC Madness: EightOne 7.1[8]{9} JackOman stared out of the barred, armour glassed, window of the Second Tower of the Triple Towers that went down to became one ground level, and underground, structure. The furniture and fittings were fairly basic but in good condition and there were some luxuries such as actual taps, a toilet closet and a kitchenette. The original bed had been added to by three bunks. The Regulator spoke to Sara Lyons with a frown in his voice. "We can go underground to reach the DC Citadel, going by a route that your people probably do not know about. It is one worked out by we Regulators after much dangerous effort. It is a journey through some sections of the DC Subway Network, through utility tunnel networks and even through some cave systems. Ghoula, and other critters, may be a greater threat as more will be concentrated underground because of the approaching superstorm." Sarah shook her head, just a little. "You think it dangerous, don't you?" He nodded even as he looked out over the settlement that continued to prepare for the superstorm to come. "As you know, the Centropolis Undercity, as it is often called, has as many threats to it as does the surface despite large areas being safely sealed off since Doomsday. There are the ghoula, though some of those are less dangerous than others. There are the trogs, the radmans and crazed subhumans. Rogue robots patrol some areas. There are areas where those damned Talon thug-mercs are busy for reasons that we have failed to discover. There are dark whispers of a people known as the Subwayers. The environment itself is often a threat. Of course there are monsters, we can't forget them. The superstorm itself might cause threats." She nodded again. "We relative newcomers have done some exploring of the Undercity and have gained information other ways but you Regulators have always been here." JackOman shrugged. "We Regulators set up our first outpost here in Centropolis about fifty years ago. Our origins are elsewhere in DC but we are forbidden to speak of it. For security reasons we have no actual maps of the route, except in our heads and only a few Regulators have even that. Before you came to occupy the DC Citadel, we had some communications with those who already dwelt there, who welcomed you into the citadel. We used the route to link up with others of importance. I am taking a risk in taking you through this route but I consider the risk to be well worth it to gain more valuable information for the Regulators." Sara sighed. "I hope that our Elders will be free with that information. I am sure my father would be." JackOman only gave her a mild grin. Maharg67
Cats #1 Cats did run through the largely abandoned human city with its self repairing smart materials and autorobotic network-systems. Most of the humans had vanished when 'rapture' came to them and they spiritually ascended to the next plane of existence. Yet there had been a sprinkling of those who returned as Guardians and even more who had failed to gain rapture, to ascend. The last tended to be troublesome and some were very dangerous. There were those few who had refused rapture to remain in the great city but who had gained some enlightenment anyway. Some of those became Keepers, those who helped maintain and even improve the metropolis. Cats did run through the great human city that had been the very last city humans had built, at least technically; androids, robots, and remotes had done the actual work except for a relative few specialists in exopower armour suits. Cats did run through the myriad of lanes, streets, parks, semi-enclosed structures and any other place that they could. Cats did stay with Keepers and Guardians, with some others, but avoided yet other humans. Especially those exiled to the Undercity because of crimes against city and people. Stays were permanent, semipermanent, seminomadic, nomadic or any other pattern suiting cats. Some cats bonded with humans, with other lifeforms and of course with each other. Cats did hunt rats, mice and other 'vermin'. They tried to avoid packs of dogs, generally speaking, along with some other kinds of animals like so called super-rats. Cats did fight, sometimes, such as when males fought over females in heat. Cats did sleep for a catnap was both good for getting over the last catnap and preparing for the next catnap. Cats did begin to change, to evolve, to adapt to the changes made by the rapture.
Maharg67
Too often You walk while I run or you run while I walk. You talk while I am silent or you are silent while I talk. You are close while I am distant or you are distant while I am close. We need, perhaps, some tuning togetherness or departure from this endless helpless dance. Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/rep_Tardis_500-1-1-1.jpg There is one reposted episode, and one new episode, of Doctor Who in this Post. Doctor Who!? Escape: SeventeenOne 17.1[18] The Doctor gained access to a hidden security transport network and the expedition was able to make good time, reaching the very outskirts of the secretive research development complex. The first thing they encountered was the mad confusion of a great big battle zone but one in which the fighting was over. Robots, androids and remotes were busy salvaging hardware; amongst the smashed machines were dalek like zaleks and two kinds of daleks, each with distinctive features; one kind were the Master serving dalek clones and the other were true Imperial Daleks. There were scattered cyborg soldiers of three kinds, odd other dalek machines of other kinds and yet other battle machines including dalek, and Timemaster, robots. Except that those forces had seeming been fighting not each other but another threat, had joined together to fight that other. What they had fought was not easily explained but there were strange scrape marks, burn marks, and even drag marks. Something most bizarre had been there, ripping great circular holes in walls and other surfaces. The Doctor found wounded and sent them back to the DocTARDIS, included wounded dalek creatures. He also had some items sent back along with records of the area. The Timelord androids assisted him to record valuable data. He did not like what he was 'sensing' with his very acute Timelord psychic abilities. Something very powerful, very ancient, very alien and very evil had destroyed many of the forces there before driving away the others. There was also the odd impression that somehow that entity had used the evil, of those forces, to draw them into an ambush; it had drawn them in and then had attacked with such sudden, brutal, overwhelming force that even an alliance of those forces had not saved them from defeat. Though he could not 'sense' anything directly Timelordic about the dark entity, the Doctor gained the feinted impression that it was linked to the Timelords and to Gallifrey in its own most ancient past, that is even before the Timelords came to exist. Gallifrey, before the rise of the Timelords, was supposedly impossible for Timelords to time travel to. Which was when a most strange, and shocking, idea came to him; was the world that he was on actually a primitive earlier Gallifrey; was it the home world of the Timelords to come? He wondered how such an idea had come to him and how he could prove it to be either true or false. When asked, Kellite shrugged as if it had no importance. "There were three native peoples here, on the NewEarth, when we Terrans arrived. They were, are if they survived the infestation, primitive survivors of something that they called the Pure Empire of Harmony. They were content to keep a third of this world to themselves, letting we Terrans to have the other two thirds. They called this world Gallifrey. The Terran Empire cheated them, giving them just about a sixteenth of the world; they just vanished. Many have speculated that those beings might have caused the infestation in revenge." The Doctor shook his head. "I have a nagging sensation that the truth is more complicated than that story for the name you give me, I have heard it before in a strange context; I can not remember just what it was. I will use a special meditating technique to try to recall the truth. There is something here that worries me greatly." Kellite realised that she had said something more important than she had first guessed; she frowned and shook her head slightly in puzzlement. http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/rep_Tardis_500-1-1-1.jpg Doctor Who!? Escape: EighteenOne 18.1[19] Could it be that humans, whose ancestors came from Terra except for some aged rejuvenated survivors, be the ancestors of the human like Timelords and other Gallifreyans? Legends spoke of the rise of Rassilon and his push to transform the Timelord ancestors through genetic engineering and other means more advanced than that. Much had been lost, of those legends, thanks to the dark times leading to the rise of the new Timelords; not much was known of the dark times. The Doctor was amazed that answers might be found on that world that was known both as Gallifrey and NewEarth! Did it have other names? Just what was the Empire of Pure Harmony and how were the three peoples survivors of it? What was their relationship with that 'empire'. The was something about the name that disturbed him, that nagged him at the back of his mind, and he wished he could remember it. This sort of thing happened too often for his liking and was part of the true mystery of his existence; it was a mystery that was largely hidden even from himself. Now the great city seemed different to him for now it was of different meaning to him and all Timelords. Was that why the Timemasters, and others were there? The Doctor halted in a great chamber that was filled with great display cases showing exotic, strange, stone monoliths that had clearly been removed from their original places. He noted three different styles of patterning along with line drawings of three different, but similar, kind of humanoid creatures. One kind was winged, another was gilled and the last looked both fast and agile; it was clear, to him, that they were flying, amphibious and ground-tree based peoples. They had reptilian like skin but mammal type eyes with some actual fur on heads and running down the backs, over the spinal chords if they had any. The tails indicated that did so. Kellite spoke, proving she was quite knowledgeable. "Together they are known as the Satroa. Separately they are called the NaSatroa, the NeSatroa, and the NuSatroa. At least that is the names given to humanity upon our arrival. They have always kept themselves to themselves, even before they vanished after the Terran Imperial Betrayal. Not all humans agreed with what was done and yet some also say that the empire had good reasons for doing so, reasons that are highly classified." When the Timelord saw the first of the Timelord like symbols, he was shocked and then he was seeing others. All had come from the time of earlier Gallifrey but had changed, to a small extent, to become part of Timelordic culture. After he took extensive data recordings, and had the cyborgs do the same, the group headed on to the very outer boundaries of the research development complex itself. There they were to run into more obstacles and threats. Edited July 14, 2015 by Maharg67

Escape: NineteenOne 19.1[19] TiSuzane studied data sent by the Doctor and she was concerned. There were other concerns as Tardistown had experienced some short, but brutal, skirmishes between different factions. Now some androids acted as police officers there while the humans had their own Sheriff's Office. The DocTARDIS could manufacture 100s of androids, robots and other useful units but neither the Doctor, or his granddaughter, saw this as an easy solution to what was going on. TiSuzane stood in the refurbished Trouble Chamber, of the TARDIS, and examined highly advanced data displays. One set of displays showed data, as sent by her grandfather, another showed areas internal to the DocTARDIS that included Tardistown and the third set showed the area around the cloaked Timelord machine. Three advanced clones, Timelordites, worked with her. They almost like her, like sisters but not identical multiple birth ones. There were human like androids. There were some cats, dogs, and other animals that had been rescued from the city and condition trained for reasonable behaviour. A moggie rubbed against one of her legs and she picked up the beautiful ginger tabby feline. Soon it was purring as she cradled it in her arms. Cats, dogs, and other animals dwelt on Gallifrey but not in the DC Academy itself; at least not officially as a few cats were hidden away. She wondered what had happened on her home world after the Doctor, and herself, had departed but did not focus on it for too long. There was too much else she needed to think about. Anyway she hated to feel the home sickness that came with thinking about the Timelords' home world. Edited July 14, 2015 by Maharg67
Maharg67
http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt9/Dragonpen61/Forum%20Additives/rep_Tardis_500-1-1-1.jpgDoctor Who!? Escape: TwentyOne 20.1[20] The Doctor, and cyborgs, entered the complex proper with out the androids, robots, as guided by CRN9-13 (Computer Regional Network Thirteen) as it would lose contact with its units; worse, they could too easily be taken over by any CRN operating inside the complex and turned against the Doctor and co. The Timelord was pleased with the decision for it cut down the size of the team, now moving on foot, to hopefully make it harder to detect. As soon as the team moved beyond the first security boundary, there was a growing sensation of foreboding, of something being wrong. Yet this was not reflected, obviously, in the environment around them. Small robots were active as were very basic androids that looked like animated, sexless, mannequins. There were areas better tended to than others, more active than others. When they came across the first horror, it was in an area with no autorobotic activity. The heaped bodies were only lightly decomposed thanks to the nature of the environment and something that had been sprayed upon them, it also dampening greatly any smell of decay. There were men, women and genetically engineered chimpanzees along with some guard dogs. They had seemingly died very quickly and painlessly, or so the Doctor soon worked out with his few devices that he had with him. They soon found a second such body dump and then a third. At the third were other creatures such as genetically engineered gorillas and tigerchimps (strange human chimp tiger hybrids) along with various experimentally altered creatures. The Doctor began trying to hack into any local CRN but soon found that it had been fragmented, broken up, damaged at least in the local area. Many important databanks had been scrubbed clean or even destroyed as firmware hardware. What the Timelord did pick up was that the complex had fallen into confusion as many areas became cut off, as power factions fought each other, as monsters became loose and as the complex went into lock down. If there had been a major security lock down, why had it been so easy for them to get into the complex? Were they let in? He did some jury rig fixing up of the local computer network-systems using network-systems to guide robots, and mannequins, even bringing many out of storage recharge bays to assist. His hope that such repairs would assist in gaining more valuable data and the team to get further into the complex with greater security and speed.
