Maharg67's Den (shorter works, short stories, poetry, etc.)

Pagafyr, thanks a lot for your valuable feedback! It is very appreciated. Though I take some poetic liberties with my fanfic, it is based on what I see as the 'spirit' of Doctor Who if not always the facts.

I see the Doctor Who series as having lost its way, becoming a psychodrama and a mid life crisis focused too tightly on the Doctor. The following is a wish list for I do not see any of it happening for real.

I would love to see the series begun again from scratch but with less focus on England and on the Doctor; perhaps it could be called the Timelords (as one word) and focus on one family dynasty of Timelords, their faction, their friends, their enemies, and others. The Doctor would continue to play a central role. The Gallifreyan based Timelords would be rather mystical and have special personal powers while rogues renegades would have less powers and be freer.

Perhaps the TARDIS could be a more unique form of mechanism along with only less than a hundred TARDISes, each with its own history and legends. This could include Rassilon's TARDIS, Omega's TARDIS, the Master's TARDIS, a monstrous WarTARDIS, an experimental DalekTARDIS that turns on the daleks, a wandered 'haunted' GhostTARDIS, the Rani's Laboratory based TARDIS and many more. Timespaceships would be far more common than TARDISes, being of different types, stages of advancement, etc.

Daleks could be the mutants and a central sphere that houses them. Dalekors could be various mechanisms that house them including the traditional machines, flying drones, stationary base capsules for running complexes, mecha, and more.

Sontarans don't have to be all stupid; lords could be brilliant and from there, officers smarter than NCOs that are smarter than 'privates', there also being specialists castes with their own levels of intelligence.

Cybermen could be one kind of linked cyber creatures, being heavy combat humanoids.

Any Time War should be fought between Timelord factions instead of between Timelords and daleks but that is just my prejudice. The darker side of the war could use daleks as their armies.

And a few other ideas.

Just a wishful thinking wish list!

All I needed to begin to understand the stories you've written is the above information. :geek:

Since you shared these ideas I suspect the reason I missed them before was because I was hooked on the TV series, and the similarity to your writing was clearly different. :thumbsup:

Now I see it was because you have the different schemes. :happy:

Pagafyr, I am glad to be of service to you and if others also gain from what I have written, that is also good.

:nuke: :ninja: :laugh: :thumbsup: :yes:

Doctor Who!? Escape: Thirty-Two
Two 7.1[7]{32}

"The infestation is something that should not exist in 'normal timespace'." The Professor, the Doctor's female counterpart from an alternate existence, handed him a thin metallic tablet covered with advanced, sophisticated, Timelordic symbolisms and symbols including letters and numbers. "This tablet is one of over 1,000 we found in a damaged TARDIS ejected subTARDIS (TARDIS lifeboat!?). What happened to the TARDIS that it came from, we do not know, but data indicates it was probably a Timeguardian vessel lost in the Time Battle of Kresenolva 675543-09876. That in your version of the Time War for it seems our version was much weaker."

The Doctor admired the Professor but not because she reflected some of his traits; she also had many facets that were quite different from his own.

The Three Romanas stood there along with TiShane and TiSuzane, other Timelords, Timelordites, Kellite and her cyborgs, two K9 hovering squared off dog-robots, floating metallic spheres of telaks, androids, robots, and a few others. They were in an expanded, enhanced, command chamber of the DocTARDIS.

The Professor continued. "The Everlords were a dark secret kept to a very few Timelord Elders for very good reasons. To even think of their true name, at in the wrong timespace, is to give them strength. They came to be on this world by accident, a very long time before humanity arrived here on the NewEarth that is also a version of Gallifrey. They came here, created many servant peoples from poor primitive native people that they found here, along manufacturing many unnatural minions. The humans later met the serving Satroa, a general servant people of three kinds, or so they considered. Separately they are the winged NaSatroa, the amphibious NeSatroa, and the fast agile NuSatroa. Except that there were actually five kinds of Satroa, two being hidden from the Terran colonists, or invaders, depending on how one viewed such things. The other two are elite shaped fighters, the NiSatroa, and the specialists of the NoSatroa. All of the Satroa are castes and have subcastes of further specialisation."

So far there had been a fair exchange of information being useful for both of the Timesages, for that is what they both were. Timesages were elite Timelord scholars, scientists, and keepers of certain ancient Timelordic secrets. Yet the Professor had managed to clarify many points.

Doctor Who!? Escape: Thirty-Two
Two 7.2[8]{33}

The Professor spoke some more. "The Everlords brought a version of the infestation with them; it did them no harm nor their new followers, once they were altered. Other lifeforms perished on the planet until all became reasonably immune to it except for some who were kept in quarantined areas by the Satroa themselves. The Everlords allowed this cost of resources, and some other 'privileges' as long as the Satroa worked hard for them; the Satroa did so. Then something very terrible happened and the Everlords vanished into the core of the world. About half of the NaSatroa, NeSatroa, and NuSatroa went with them along with all of the NiSatroa and NoSatroa."

The Professor: "The metal tablets were created by Satroa who were left behind, to care for things at the world's surface and shallower subsurface levels, but they had no idea why the Everlords suddenly went deep into the world's core. The distorted Everlords departed as if they were going to war of some kind. The information in the tablets is not very efficiently recorded, being in forms of devotional sayings, careful statements, hints, and fearful whisperings. The Satroa were terrified of the Everlords and, from what I have learned, for very good reason."

The added knowledge was very useful but there were still many questions to be answered.

The Professor spoke again. "We need to rescue my TARDIS, the ProfTARDIS, mostly because of those in it but also because since I have been away from it, other Timelords there have gained some vital information that would prove to be useful to both of us."

The Professor, and one of the Romanas, came from the other version of Gallifrey now wrongly sharing the same distorted star system as that world. While the Doctor had come to admire the Professor, and others from her world, he had soon realised that they were very cold of mentality, were far too alike the Rani for his liking. The other two Romanas, and other Timelord folk that had come with them, were obviously a little wary of the Professor and her companions. Yet, unlike the Rani, the Professor and her people did have a very strong code that regulated their experimentations, especially on innocent lifeforms or even not so innocent ones.

Doctor Who!? Escape: Thirty-Three
Two 8.1[9]{34}

In a large, mostly empty, industrial chamber the Timemaster and Imperial Dalek Factions met and formed an unlike alliance, a wary agreement driven by mutually shared fear of greater threats than they were to each other. In that place of massive, silent, machines in the background, and great gurgling pipes of flowing liquids, the agreement was formed.

Then came others to join them, being the Satroa that once served the Everlords but who now wished to fight for there freedom; there came five kinds of Satroa included newly regenerated military NiSatroa and the exotic specialists NoSatroa. There were also the new suborders of the military NiSatro and the subspecialists NoSatro. It turned out that the Satroa were a selfish, territorial expansionist, species who had been planning to attack the Terrans; that is they were no less treacherous than had been the Terran Empire with them.

Then came cybermen, from Mondos, along with others of the CyberEmpire including Cyborlords, cybermats, and cyber-robots.

Then came Sontarans being a Commander, officers, NCOs, and troopers. Each clone caste-rank above was smarter but smaller than the rank below.

Information had come to all of them, and suggestions of alliance; there had been warnings against enemies such as the Everlords, the Timewarlords and an unnamed alliance that would arise being of Timelords, Thals, Kelads and others including human colonists.

The dark Alliance was expanded and then again as new, surprise, additions came to join it.

Doctor Who!? Escape: Thirty-Four
Two 9.1[10]{35}

The great swarming army of twisted ones had fallen to the control of the Everlords, through the infestation that was an extension of themselves, of their own twisted nature. They had come from another dimensional realm, a dwindling pocket existence who destruction they had caused through evil experimentations. It was in the same way that they created the infestation.

The great city's supercomputers quickly, as possible, absorbed isolated network-systems, fixed what they could, reorganising all under a great supercomputer supernetwork of network-systems. The SCSN, the NS being left out to short the anachronism, replaced thousands of old controlling networks under the new flexible as possible hierarchy. Hundreds of thousands of security robots, androids, and remotes were soon being upgraded in military terms. Other changes were taking place.

Then there were the sanctuaries where millions of uninfected humans were kept safe. As many of those were recruited willingly to the cause to operate remoterobots, to take up power armour, or even to be cyborged. The secret sanctuaries, that even the Doctor had not been told about thanks to security programming, were made even more secure.

Yet it was the Doctor's growing alliance that the SCSN, and its human allies, chose to become part of. They certainly had no wish to join the alternatives that all seemed evil.

Events appeared to be leading to a great conflict on a world that had already seen too many dark events.

Doctor Who!? Escape: Thirty-Five
Two 10.1[11]{36}

The Doctor dreamed a dream that was more than a dream and less than reality except it seemed most real.

The entities were of the ElderEntities, ascended beings but not so ascended as to form part of the very essence of God. The stood in mid air as great elemental humanoids, each with two arms and two sets of breasts, for all were seemingly female. Semitransparency of robes showed their avatar bodies quite clearly.

They were nine that faced him, in a gently curving row, yet there was a sense of peacefulness, of acceptance, of awareness, and a lack of threat. The irony was that any of those entities could have destroyed him very easily or was that the case?

One spoke, with out her mouth moving, but through her they all spoke. "You are far more than you assume you are, generally that is for you have doubts. There is your true name that is but a mystery that is a key to a greater mystery of your true nature. An incredibly long time ago, even in Timelord terms though not for us, you were part of a terrible mistake, a crime of pride, and yet you had meant to do good. It was hubris that drove you. This world, this poor distorted solar system, offers you a start to finding the truth and for you to escape the terrible burden that you have deep inside. One key to finding out what you used to be like is the alternate Doctor known as the 'Professor'. This communications will soon end but even as it ends much information will be fed into your mind to surface as it is needed; much of that information will be in the form of directions or vaguer clues; it must be this way for you must do most of the hard work yourself and take most of the risks..."

The Doctor awoke inside a sleep capsule, that enhanced sleep in all of its important ways, and was soon busy talking with others about the dream that was more than a dream. While he openly spoke of much of it there were matters he kept to himself.
