Zombies from the Sky: Fifty-Six

New Episode

Two 17.1[17]{60}

CalamityJane shot the necroglobe with one of her special handguns and it imploded, disintegrated, weakening the ancient cursed energies of the long hidden temple of the damned. DocHoliday wiped out another necroglobe even BillyKid blasted away at an oncoming rush of zombies, wiping them out with quiet efficiency but also a wild grin.

The Angelic Slayer of the Undead, Cellestia, hurled great burning bright solar pulses across the massive temple chamber, causing cursed undead necrogolems to crumble away in a most unsavoury fashion. Animated skeleton like skeltors shot bone-arrows at the invaders who dared attack the unholy site and the necroglobes at its core. Their projectiles disintegrated as the solar pulses hit them and so did the skeltors.

They were winning, it was a victory, but the four of them knew both that is was only a secondary triumph and that they would need further assistance in the near future; thankfully, they all had means of calling upon such assistance.

None of them noted the shadowy thing, a darker unnatural shadow inside dark natural shadows, as it spied upon them and then vanished away by sinking down through a putrid puddle on nameless substances and the hard stone floor.

Zombies from the Sky: Fifty-Seven

New Episode

Two 18.1[18]{61}

The destruction of the ancient, once well hidden temple, left hollow chambers and remnants of dark things but also some surprising bonuses. One of these was a treasure trove of artefacts of ancient peoples' design and construction. They had been clearly stored away in three separate vault antechambers being to the undead neutral, supportive, and destructive. Amongst them were tomes, tablets, scrolls and other texts of important information including charts.

Another was the secret entrance to a suggested vast set of tunnels, just as secret, and probably other features to go with what shadowy tales spoke of as the Pale Ways. Oddly enough the Pale Ways were not linked with undeath but with other ancient forces that were mostly 'neutral evil' and isolationist in their ways. It was said that the Pale Ways went right back to the very beginning of the Isles but none were sure of the truth of this.

Yet there was a deeply disturbing find that was more so than what else had been in the temple; for inside an oversized necroglobe, itself full of undeathly gases, floated a curled up corpse of that looked disturbingly like a partly decayed duplicate of the Oracle herself. Or was it a copy of the Oracle for she was one of three triplets? There was no information close to the thing, that was hidden inside a secret antechamber, except some cursed ugly symbols scrawled over a wall in dark ritualistically created blood-chalk. Oddly enough it was an ancient necromantic curse, and warding, aimed at the figure inside the oversized necroglobe. That was a reminder that different necromantic factions, forces, had been at war with each other for thousands of years; most were not of human kind or even anything like humanity.

Cellestia looked troubled even as she spoke calmly, gracefully. "Ancient humans were here, were carrying out a necrocloning experiment of some kind, but something of nonhuman necromantic forces attacked and destroyed the experiment before it could be completed. There is a mystery here, a puzzle demanding solution, and that is why does the necroclone look so much like the Oracle?"

All four of them turned to face translucent versions of Dorothy and Toto. Dorothy spoke at once. "There is a limit to how much we can intervene but know this, the greatest threat comes from many directions and some of those will be from most unexpected ones; make no assumptions with the Oracle, either good or bad; do not judge her; try to understand her true nature for not even she knows the real truth of who, what, she really is."

Cellestia bowed in respect. "We will call for assistance of our own, when we can, as we can."

Dorothy smiled and a great blast of light energies briefly filled the chamber. When it was gone so were Dorothy and Toto.

The four were no longer alone; many figures were there along with crates, sacks, boxes, devices of many kinds, and some surprising things. The chamber was refurbished, refitted, was of the Light and yet they all somehow knew that this was how the temple was when it was first created and it was only returned to its true nature.

The oversized necroglobe, and dead necroclone, were gone!

Zombies from the Sky: Fifty-Eight

New Episode

Zero 14.1[14]{62}

More comet-projectiles came from space but only in small numbers, all of them crashing into deep ocean waters and most of them exploding dramatically.

Sherlock Holmes began to lead a taskteam deep into the dark, ancient, mysterious undercity beneath London. Newly gained information had the taskteam seeking more information about past possible events involving comet-projectiles coming from space and crashing into the ocean.

A great fleet of 'mist shrouded ghost ships' is seen by a guarded fishing fleet but, thankfully, from a safe distance; it is at night and the ghostly fleet is in a strange glowing white mist. It is heading for the very same place where the tramp-steamer was blown up.

Combined naval forces fire upon glimmermists in the Indian and Atlantic Ocean.

Another rocketship, the LNASA Lunar Warrior, joined the LNASA Lunar Pathfinder. The 'Warrior' was much more of a warship than was the more scientific oriented 'Pathfinder' and was sent to protect her and her people.

From the LNASA Watchguardia Spacestation Protector was sent a medium sized rocketship, a clunky thing designed to move only through space, to the top of the great alien Skytower that two airships had first encountered. The expedition had been delayed by the need to focus on other concerns. The rocketship crew found that a gateway was open in the side, of the top, of the Skytower and that a softly shimmering, semitransparent, shield protected its internal atmosphere from the vacuum of space.

Of course other events were taking place, many of them.

Zombies from the Sky: Fifty-Nine

New Episode

Two 19.1[19]{63}

Freedom Island would have become far too crowded if it was not for the underground labyrinth of spaces, many of them supportive of life with glowcrystal, water, fertile soil and other resources. The Oracle made it clear much of the natural environment was to be left strictly alone and all was to be treated carefully and all followed her wishes because there was still plenty of places to set up settlements.

The Oracle met BillyKid, DocHoliday, and CalamityJane close to a high spouting fountain of pure clear water that was the remnant of an ancient civilisation of which very little remained. The elegantly beautiful figure studied the fountain and then she spoke. "Dorothy told me that you found a broken giant necroglobe in which floated a long dead necroclone of myself. I am the immortal daughter of the immortal Professor Frankenstein as is my sister, Salisha the GrandPriestess, who thankfully is causing no trouble; we have not always been comfortable with each other's ways."

From what the others had learned, the Oracle's last words were an understatement. The Oracle had driven her sister into exile, from the island, after discovering her doing some dark experiments. Salisha had supposedly changed her ways since then, as the Oracle 'sensed' but the Oracle was duty bound to be careful anyway.

The Oracle went on. "Salisha looks identical to me if she removes her GrandPriestess appearance except that she has gained a rather nasty facial scar; she will not tell me how she got it. I fear, sometimes, that she might have become involved in experiments involving necrocloning, including of herself, though I am not sure why she would do this. Unless she hoped to gain knowledge from having a special link with a necroclone cloned from herself but that would be rather foolish."

Seemingly from nowhere, Salisha strode up to the group, halted and then spoke. "I have no such scar. You have the scar! If anybody has foolishly had something to do with necrocloning experiments, it was you."

The Oracle frowned softly at her triplet sister. "You do not know of what you speak."

Then she vanished with a soft sparkling shimmer.

The GrandPriestess frowned softly also. "Question, which one of us triplet sisters is the Oracle that you were just with and just how many Oracles are there, original and other wise."

Then she also vanished with a soft sparkling shimmer.

BillyKid shook his head. "I am getting a headache; this is too damned complicated for my nature."

DocHoliday nodded his head just a little. "I say we return to the Temple of Light and do some working out of things with out newly arrived comrades and useful resources."

So they did just that, rejoining others including the angelic slayer who had been reluctant to meet the Oracle for reasons that she refused to give.

Zombies from the Sky: Sixty

New Episode

Zero 15.1[15]{64}

In the darkness, of a 'moonless' night, it happened.

Wraiths, of the restless dead driven by fear and rage, arose from dark burial grounds at the edge of the troubled, violent, poverty stricken city of Kamackia, in the Grand Caribbean. Old dark ritualistic magic had left residues and some corpses arose not as zombies but as necrophants. Corrupt, inefficient, local police forces had proven to be better at beating up defenceless people than taking on any real threat and proved it once more as they fled, leaving behind those they were supposed to protect; but wraiths, drawn by their dark karma, caught up to them and took control of them.

Fighting swept through the city towards the harbour while LN Peacekeepers, from a small fleet in the harbour, fought to give safe passage to those that the wraiths would not, could not, possess. Propeller driven naval fighters strafed, bombs, swarms of glowing wraiths floating through the air, that were surprisingly damaged by the attack, and fast shambling necrophants.

Then, to their surprise, they were ordered to move out of the way. The wraiths, the necrophants, were not out to attack people but to leave as bizarrely a small fleet of ghostly ships arrived at the harbour to pick them up. With surprising speed the restless dead entities were gone from the city, taking many corpses and possessed evil humans with them.

After that the city became a lot nicer to live in being more peaceful, honest, prosperous and even greener.

That night became famous for being an event, unlike many others effecting the metropolis, that turned out to be for the good.

The arrival of many journalists, scientists, tourists, and others from around the world did much for the local economy.

Apologies but this episode cross purposes with another one I wrote earlier and needs to be ignored. Sorry about that!
