What was the game that caused your gaming addiction to begin?

Easy for me, games like Sabre Wulf, Atic Atac, Jetpac, back in the early 80s, 1st computer I played "games" on was the ever loyal zx81, which you had to build yourself, then the Spectrum got me totally hooked on gaming.

I think the only games that captivated me for the longest time and that I played a ton and not because I felt I was forced to because I'd payed for them were Pokemon sapphire on the gameboy advance and oblivion when I first discovered it on the xbox 360. I remember finding oblivion for 10$ in the discount bin at a Zellers (These stores don't even exist anymore). It was one of my first RPGs and it was the best thing in the world to me at the time. After I played oblivion, I bought skyrim when it came out then elder scrolls online and I've just recently bought morrowind.

The first game I really recall wanting to play was actually an arcade game. Star Wars.

For me, I got hooked on gaming from Donkey Kong country. But the first game I remember getting super immersed in was 7th Saga for the SNES.

 

Then later Final Fantasy 7.

 

My love for multiplayer and PvP games comes from Goldeneye 64 for the N64. I am sure many of you can relate.

Street Fighter II on Sega Genesis. The joy that I felt as a 5 year old when I kicked my older brother in his virtual face with the thunder thigh goddess Chun Li started me on a path of addiction from which I have never recovered. :wub:

Sid Meier´s Pirates (1987). Truly a game magnet! I still play it (Firaxis version 2004).

I remember those games, but sadly I didn't played one of them. However, I too begin playing computer games on a Spectrum and a few years later a Spectrum 128, which I still have both computers intact.

 

What got me hooked was the simulator games such as the Desert Rats (I played that game a lot in the late 80's) and the last version of that game series was Vulcan.

 

I also played Elite a lot and I even bought the last copy for Win95, still have it, they got in the mall in the late 90's. In the late 90's I tried both Sid Meier's Civization and The Settlers for MS-DOS and those games got me hooked.

 

Only a year or maybe 2 years after Morrowind came out in early May 2002, I played Morrowind for the first time and that was my first RPG-game. The rest is history.

Okay....what really pushed me to gaming was DOOM,you know,the very first one.
Since then its been nothing but game addiction.
