Eddieawsome
So I have been hearing a LOT of mixed opinions about this, some have cried screamed begged that it was a sick joke, others say it will be a nice little side game to play while they wait for TES:VI, others asked," WTF is TES".Whats your opinion? Edit:whoops looks like i didnt spel out distraction  Edited May 5, 2012 by Eddieawsome
BeastlyBeast
It'l just be a nice little addition to the franchise. People love the single player game. They're sure to play the multiplayer side of it. If they charge top dollar to play it through a monthly fee, however, then I'd imagine less will want it. It should be 'buy, and play'. Not 'buy, and play while continuously streaming a never ending purchase.' They already make enough off of the single player games. I'll bet there are still people buying it TODAY! Heck, I saw a video on youtube of a guy who has 3 sets of skyrim, one for each game system (XB,PS,PC) Thats 180 dollars off of 1 person. They don't need another billion dollars just cause they released another popular online game, like someone does at least once every 3-5 years. Tidus44
I'm sure there will be those who will be horrified at a TES game online and will be knashing their teeth, pulling their hair and coating their sack cloth with ashes as they wail over the ruination of the game. I suppose time will tell, but it'll probably be a nice addition and change from the single player games that exist and that will come in the future and I hope that it'll be a fun place to meet your friends and just indulge in some escapism. Cost doesn't bother me, and I hope its fairly expensive as that will tend to keep the riff raff out.
marharth
This is going to be a huge failure. It won't stop the single player games from getting made.
Eddieawsome
This MMO will cost the elder scrolls its very identity, It will be a permanent scar on the face of the series that can never be healed. This is why i say so: Remember when Astrid first kidnapped you? Do you remember your choice, i`m sure you do. And even if you don`t the world of Skyrim will always remember and have to live with it. Remember the thrill of killing the one and only emperor? Remember the satisfaction of plowing down the last assassin in that sanctuary? And a year later guess what, there still dead, Remember when you stormed Windhelm/Solitude? Remember the glory of cutting down the usurper or the joy of putting him on his throne? And a year later he will still be on that throne, the Dark Brotherhood will still be dead. Because of YOU, because of what YOU did, That is what makes a game a elder scrolls game, the world forms around you, your every action is a permanence bestowed upon that world that can never be changed. A MMO destroys that permanence. Therefore even if another TES singleplayer game comes out, It will never be the same
Dark0ne
No. Because even if the MMO is a massive flop it has absolutely no bearing on the single player games.
JimboUK
The single player games have been hugely successful so I doubt this will stop them making any more, that said I won't be bothering with it, to be honest after Skyrim I won't be in any hurry to buy their next single player Elder Scrolls game either. SubjectProphet
It'll really hurt TES, but it won't kill it. Ugh, I'm hoping that this flops though. I don't want a bunch of WOW nerds all over TES.
DeathWarrior
This isn't the first time a spinoff game has been made. There also exists Redguard, Battlespire, Shadowkey, Dawnstar, and Oblivion for mobile phones, and we still have the singleplayer games of the main series made after they were. Future singleplayer TES games will likely be fine.
Eddieawsome
They say a man can is judged by the company he keeps. The same can be applied to games except their judged by their prequels and sequels. I STILL meet people who wont by Skyrim cause in there eyes oblivion is the worst game ever. I have met people who say they will only buy the next fallout when its 75% percent off on steam, Because obsidian messed up with New Vegas. Games are judged in public eye by there predecessors. Edit: well this has been a pretty one sided debated with a 87% majority the nexus has decided im being paranoid. Guess my high school guidance councilor was right. Ah well it felt good to get that off my chest Edited May 5, 2012 by Eddieawsome
