Why is F4SE launcher faster than vanilla launcher?

I just started using the Script Extender and Place Everywhere yesterday. The first difference I noticed was an increase in speed of the game's startup.

Normally, I get a lot of stutter and pausing during the initial loading of the game, during the black and white film sequences, and a little as the camera zooms in toward the power armor (before you access the main menu). Things settle down at this point.

With the Script Extender launcher, the black and white sequences have no stutter or pausing, and the camera movement toward the garage and power armor is smooth from the beginning.

Otherwise, frame rates are consistent, which I imagine is to be expected. Just the launching of the game is faster.

Anyone know why?

... well this is more of an opinion than an answer, but while I have not seen how the game is coded in C++ and Assembly, I've obviously seen vanilla scripts. Optimization and best practices aren't a common thing with BGS. I'd say the guy that coded that F4SE launcher was careful and coded with optimization in mind. That and the sources(SKSE too) are very readible.

tl;dr - less junk code.

Seeing the difference in size between the original FO4 exe and the F4SE one, that seems a very plausible explanation.

And I must wonder how much of the game is just like this? Most?

Little Hangman's Alley and its low frame rates jump immediately to mind.
