Polar88
Is a mirror mod possible for viewing your players front?
MichikoUnknownFox
I've personally never seen any kind of mirror that actually works in any of Bethesda's games. Not saying it's impossible, but it may be trickier than we think if nobody's ever made one despite all the clothing and fashion stores, etc., that we have running around. bfg10k17
The closest any modder got to mirrors is replicating in the room you stand in behind glass, but that doesen't work for the character, only the room.
tnu
Which must mean...... THE PC IS A VAMPIRE!
bfg10k17
o_O :hurr: Good one tnu. lol Jokes aside, it donesen't work for anything else either, like corpses, followers or furniture that is not replicated behind that glass wall, because it's not a true reflection.I've seen an example in the mod ''DC interiors'' There was a room with a few corpses and some molerats, but nothing was reflecter other than the furniture.I'm pretty sure that making a real mirror in FO3 is next to impossible, but I could be wrong. Who knows ? Someone just needs to prove me wrong.
chucksteel
I also tried to make a mirror by using placable water, I could get it to reflect the room but, as Tnu said the PC was still a vampire because water doesn't reflect animated objects, NPC's, creatures or, the player. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/wallbash.gif
MichikoUnknownFox
I think what we can do is to introduce our own reflection shader, but even just typing that makes it feel very complicated. Edited May 14, 2012 by HosokawaTakuya
Phrozin
Maybe instead of an actual mirror, it could just be a mirrored duplicate of the room with a scripted NPC of the player. It might eat up a bunch of processing with it constantly updating the NPC's location, rotation, animation, and equipped clothing and weapons. MichikoUnknownFox
That would also have problems with objects with Havok. If you have some books on a desk in the real room and you move them around, the books in the desk in the mirrored room would have to "reflect" that as well, which I imagine is rather qoghfkdslkjjkllquieorozujvkppwueklalurjghjjghgkjflka. I first saw a mirror for PC in FEAR above sinks showing head and shoulders and PC movement, but it's a very hazy/ dull metal reflection. Then FEAR 2 had the same thing but with a nice full clarity reflection and movement shown.
