Deleted53237921User
If I go my "MY NEXUS ACCOUNT" there is a Tab labeled "CONTENT BLOCKING" where I can block tags which have been attributed to other's mods. (Image hidden under Spoiler below) Unfortunately, I can see no place to set these tags during mod upload. Nor can I find where to set or query these tags after a mod has been uploaded. Is this a bug? Or the loss of a feature? Edited June 30, 2018 by Guest
WastelandAssassin
go to the mod in questionright above the different sections (description , downloads , posts etc) there should be a section tags for this mod , with a button to add tagsthat should have everything you need
Deleted53237921User
Okay, that takes care of existing mods. How do I set them during mod upload? Edited June 30, 2018 by Guest
vronykah
When I upload a mod, in the description, you pick the category (which is kind of the main tag I guess). I only remember adding the other tags after the fact - the same way WastelandAssassin said. On a more personal note - I forgot to welcome you to the forums. I was in my own headspace at the time and neglected to share my regrets at your grandfathers passing. It's awesome to see you on here continuing his work and starting your own as well. Thank you for the condolences. I had no idea that geepah was so involved here. Edited June 30, 2018 by Guest
WastelandAssassin
Okay, that takes care of existing mods. How do I set them during mod upload? I'm not sure , as I haven't uploaded a mod here in a long timeso I'm not sure if it's possible , though I could probably try and seewhatever the case , you can do what I mentioned immediately after uploading a mod , so it may not be as convenient as doing so while setting up the mod , but it's still a usable system
HadToRegister
The Tags really need to match the Categories.
Deleted53237921User
Okay, that takes care of existing mods. How do I set them during mod upload? I'm not sure , as I haven't uploaded a mod here in a long timeso I'm not sure if it's possible , though I could probably try and seewhatever the case , you can do what I mentioned immediately after uploading a mod , so it may not be as convenient as doing so while setting up the mod , but it's still a usable system There is also no reminder that this should be done by not having the setting of tags as part of the mod upload process. So it is up to each individual to remember that tags need be set. We both know that memory is unreliable at the best of times. The Tags really need to match the Categories. Categories are broad. Weapons, armour, buildings, NSFW, etc. Tags are much more granular and are used to set greater bounds on searches. Tags cover everything from language (Spanish, Czech, Italian, German, Russian ...) to types of weapons (ballistic, melee, explosive ...) to armour fitting scheme (CBBE etc). Tags also cover esoteric things like Anime, My Little Pony, and Cartoon characters. Tags are also used to describe whether the mod is lore friendly, a cheat or a balanced item. Tags even identify required DLC. There are even tags for the number of players. So there is really no relationship between tags and categories. For example, a mod in category Weapon could have tags like Lore Friendly, English Language, Conventional Weapon, Far Harbor and Fair and Balanced. Only one of these is specifically related to the category Weapon. But that is also the great thing about tags. There are no rules, so you can make up your own rules and hope that the rest of NEXUS plays along.

If I block a certain tag, then I'm also unwillingly blocking a LOT of mods that have other tags I'm interested in. I blocked the JAPANESE and other Language Tags, because I don't want to find mod with languages I don't speakWell, thanks to the tags being so broad, I also inadvertently blocked all the mods of a Japanese modder who makes English mods, because people or the modder himself was tagging his mod with the Japanese Tag, which meant that his mods wouldn't show up in my searches Tags are far too broad, and get assigned to mods incorrectly, and being able to block tags, just makes everything worse, because as I said, you end up blocking a bunch of mods because they happen to have ONE tag you blocked, while having 5 other tags you're looking for. Categories and tags should match, otherwise Tags are useless for filtering/blocking
Pickysaurus
In answer to your original question UnshodCobbler, the tagging part of the mod creation "wizard" seemed to have been lost in the transition to the new design. It is something we're looking into though.
