CTD after Alternate Start/Mods Start Activating

Hello,

I've been getting back into Skyrim lately. I followed the Nordic Skyrim guide on the Nexus with some variations (added Rigmor of Bruma), but it seems every time I make my character and my mods start activating, there comes a specific point where my game just CTDs. I've tried disabling/enabling certain mods, but none of that seems to work. My first thought was it was Legacy of the Dragonborn, but that didn't seem to be it.

Would anyone mind just giving my Papyrus/Load Order a spot check to see if they can spot something immediately problematic? I've been looking over the load order and I have no clue what it might be.

I think you are running both Rigmor of Bruma and Immersive Armors.

If so deactivate Rigmor of Bruma esp (and any associated patches). Start a new game. Wait for Immersive Armors to finish configuring (it will tell you in the top left of the screen when its done). Save and exit. Reactivate Rigmor esp and any associated patches). Load up your game.

I don't see the SKSE Engine fixes in there. So if you're using SKSE without that - you will CTD often.

QuagaarWarrior, I haven't tried that yet, so will do once I'm back home.

Jyotai, I do have SKSE Engine fixes! I don't think it shows up in the load order since there aren't any ESPs for it, but rest assured I have it there. Thanks for the suggestion

Edit: It worked! The problem now is that every time I'm about to apply damage/attack, the game CTDs....I still haven't figured that one out either. Is there any common problem that's related to this?

This issue could also be caused by an improper skeleton (XPMSSE) installation. Make sure NOTHING overwrites XMPSSE (Select Yes to All when asked to overwrite during XPMSSE installation) under any circumstances. Also, your load order is a mess. Here is what a fully-functional load order looks like:

Notice how I have mods that do similar things loaded/merged together. Quest mods with quest mods, followers with followers, Environment mods with environment/graphics mods, etc. For instance, Vigilant Voiced.esp should be loaded directly below Vigilant.esp since these two work in tandem together. Hope this helps.

Be careful with Racemenu Alpha. That unofficial release has Floating Healthbars included with it & can cause issues with CTDs when entering/during combat. Make sure the Exported folder & related files are installed in your Interface folder correctly. Otherwise, remove those files.

Holy you're right. The difference between your order and mine is night and day! Hahaha. Thanks for the advice.

I'll keep an eye out for racemenu. It sounds essentially like what the problem will be, and I'll do a few more test runs to see what's going on. edit: Yup, I had not properly installed Racemenu because I'm an idiot. You're a lifesaver! I'll be using this time to work on solid load orders. I thought LOOT was sufficient, but I guess not...gotta put in the hours to be come a pro. xD

No, this isn't true at all. CTDs are caused by broken mods or bad load ordering etc, not by running SKSE without an engine fixes plugin. I run my SSE game just fine using SKSE64 without the engine fixes plugin.
