zoyberg
Hello,My issue is when I use pntsc in game, popup message says 'saved image as ScreeShot5', etc; but when attempting to open saved bmp file, Windows Photo Viewer app opens with message in middle of screen stating 'Windows Photo Viewer cant open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest update to Photo Viewer. This is on 2011 Toshiba A665-3D (os win7), 3D equipped Laptop, with NVIDIA Sterioscopic 3D USB controller, driver version 6.14.11.9765. If I change the file extension to jpg and attempt to open, then I get 'Windows Photo Viewer cant open this picture because file appears to be damaged, corrupted or is too large'. I've checked Windows Online and don't believe this is a Windows issue, (note) as all my other photo files and formats (some very large) open just fine in viewer, paint, photoshop, media center, etc. Anyone, please let me know if you have any ideas... Thanks(Zoyberg) This is the message I get in Windows Photo Viewer when trying to open Skyrim screenshot as BMP file... This is the message I get in Windows Photo Viewer when trying to open Skyrim screenshot as JPG file... This is what the image looks like when opened in Photoshop (skewed and desaturated)... zoyberg
Hello HeyYou, Thanks for your reply; here is what the image looks like in Photoshop (see attachment). As you can see, the picture is askew, pixel and color quality is way off, etc... I have saved original bmp file as jpg and reduced by 50% to upload as an attachment here. What do you think?? FYI - other prtsc images on this pc look just fine. I should mention, that when using pntsc in Skyrim, that the file saves automatically (bmp) to StreemApps/common/skyrim folder; whereas otherwise I would paste the pntsc image into a paint or photoshop program, and 'save as' into what ever format (jpg) and folder I choose. Thanks!Zoyberg Will the files open in photoshop?

kat1004
UESP has a guide on taking screenshots. If your resolution in-game is 1366x768, reduce it to 1360x768. That will work, as the game will not recognize screenshots properly in the larger one. Source: UESPI had this exact problem. (PS: Mods, I know I am necroposting, but it's highly useful info that adds to the topic.)
