FWE game freezes in shack

Recommended Posts

I'm very new to mods... very, very new. I'm as green as a green crayon without it's wrapper lost in a beautiful lush green yard in springtime.

That being said, I have Fallout 3: GOTY edition from Steam. I have FOMM and FOSE installed and I've installed the Fallout: Wanderer's edition pack 1, 2, and the Hotfix. I do not have any other mods installed at this time and I've set up the load list according to the template given.

I start the game via FOSE from FOMM and I can start a new game. The opening scene of being born plays out and it asks me if I want to keep dreaming or wake up for the alternative opening. My problem is that when I wake up in the shack the game will freeze but the music will continue to play.

I have implemented the mulitcore fix because I have an i7 pentium but the problem still arises.

Here's a my load list if it helps.

I've searched and searched but I haven't found a solution to my problem so I'm hoping one of you awesome smart people can help me.

Edit: Oh and I'm running Windows 7 64 bit OS if it means anything.

Before you installed the mods, were you able to start and run the game? Also, please list your equipment specs. Freezes and crashes are usually the result of not having a GPU powerful enough to run the game.

By the way, you do not want to use both of the Optional Restore Tracers .esp. Pick one and disable the other.

First thank you for responding I appreciate it much.

Before the mods I was in fact capable of running and playing the game. I haven't had the game on PC long. I played on my 360 mostly but I bought the PC version so I can try out all the awesome mods. I was able to make it all the way through the game and talk with the sheriff in Megaton before I saved and stopped playing. All other plays have been with trying to get this mod to work.

Compuer Specs:

Intel Core i7 CPU

4GB of RAM

Windows 7 64 bit OS

Graphics card: GeForce 8400GS with the latest Driver

If anyone could give further advice I'd appreciate it. Until then I shall look through those links M48A5 so graciously provided me with. :) Thank you sir.

Edit: Just loaded up the older save and the mod works fine with it. I can walk around, interact with people etc. I can access the FWE settings from the pipboy and adjust them as desired.

It appears to only freeze up in the shack after waking up. I guess I can try to select the option to keep dreaming and see if it freezes there.

FWE will also crash if you try to change some of the values before you get into the shack. For example, if you have a mod that changes Timescale before FWE has the opportunity to change it, or used a console command during the baby scene to change it. Though honestly I don't see any mods that would do that, and I doubt you did that via console, though of course there is the possibility.
