TrooperScooperMKII
That's what I'm going for. Have you seen Psycho Pass? The latter storyline gets very, very good, and the ending is the best of any anime or show I've seen so far. Could be some tough choices for sure....really test the player's metal. Havn't seen Psycho Pass, but I'll definitely see if I can track it down. Tough choices are what video games, RPGs, and Fallout in particular are all about.Hulu's great, aside from the annoying ads. It's sort of like Minority Report at the beginning. Maybe it could involve one of the companions, a la EDE and the Divide? The love interest angle is a bit overused, IMO, especially since we're probably going for it in the Sunset mod. Could be, the companions are hero's in their own right. Very capable, strong character, knowledge of the outside world etc. I'm not sure they'd be willing to sacrifice themselves through as a native of the vault or as altruistic as the player can be. So that makes it hard to have a credible justification. But it's definitely an interesting idea to consider. Wouldn't be surprised if something like that happens to Veronica, fate really seems to love kicking the cr*p out of her. But we can rule out the non-humans (lily's not a genius. Rex, Raul & ED-E are a no go). Don't see Cass or Boone ever volunteering. Maybe a slight possibility for Arcade though, he's probably one of or the most altruistic. I don't know it sound like a tough sale. Any opinions/thoughts on this one? Arcade was my first thought, he's definitely the most heroic of the bunch. Though who's to say that the companion is totally willing, eh?that would be pretty.. evil... even for an open-ended Bethesda thing though. Not sure if I can buy the Courier sacrificing a boon companion for an ai. my main objection is that the love-angle thing is too... predictable, and we're sort of using it already with the SS mod. Other than that, though, all of those options look good. Though would this be its own mod? Well it's (at it's core) there to tie in the legion, for more activity.....where they figure prominently in the later part of this mod (at least that is my impression of where Devilman was going with it). The addition of brain thing is just to shake up the mod a bit so it's not too straight forward and simply clearing the camp/fort near the vault. There are other things we could do too. Like make it a sort of wasteland defense where you get to set up where you want traps, turrets, your vault troops etc and see if you can defeat the legion with brains, cunning and tech. The scripting would probably be atrocious, but it could be fun. Or it could be the vault population aren't quite as nice as they seem (like borrowing organs to extend their life). But just about every vault has a theme, and I'd like to have one for this vault, so the story doesn't hing completely on the legion camp eradication. Well, it's not as if the Legion has a bunch of cell phones or radios. I think that even e.g. the NCR HQ can't have complete and instantaneous contact with all of its forces, even if they're fairly large contingents. Given the probable chaos following a Legion withdrawal, the distances involved, and the poorish tech level I don't believe that the Legionaries involved could be in contact with HQ, nor even that they would be "missed" per se. So just because one Legion of the Legion (heh) stumbled across the vault doesn't mean that the rest of the Legion will ever know about the vault, or where the Legionaries are, or why they disappeared. One of the quest objectives could be to blow up a radio tower, that they're trying to refurbish to bounce a message back to Flagstaff. Mostly I'm digging a Lost Legion scenario. It would be much more interesting and IMO plausible than the Sword of Damocles' legion-in-the-wings. Actually why not just roll this idea into Sunset? Couldn't a Lost Legion find its way into the Park? It seems more or less analogous in everything else, and the idea seems like its own mod potentially. While it's not impossible, I rather like the idea of Sunset being completely isolated since the way. Or did you mean after the conclusion of the mod, the legion surround the entrance and attempt to get in? The plot sketched out just seems quite close to the Sunset one. then again I'm picturing a ragged band of survivors/retreating legionaries, of indeterminate size. Sort of a Last Valley scenario; again, jut because the legion are kind of cliched villainous empire types doesn't mean they can't be somewhat sympathetic. And again, I don't like playing the organic ai + hidden valley + love interest/companion offered up as salvagable grey matter angle twice, in two rather large undertakings. And as to the brain... well, you did lose your brain in Big Mountain. Even if you got it back, there's still the digital double. Yeah that was.....something. Not my favorite part of the plot in OWB. Pheh.
darkus37
How about we leave the companions alone - I'm sure that most people will not want to sacrifice them. That said, there can be a tribal who becomes a companion for the duration of the mod and who volunteers to be the new "brain" - I see the tribal as a female but a male will serve just as well. This would have to be a well written character so that the player would feel sad they were "dying", a possible romance would be possible under certain conditions. Upon merging with the AI, there could then be a hologram projection of the tribal to interact with.
Devilman1975
I really wish the developers had made him tougher to kill or essential. But, yeah, seems like Caesar had some questionable choices...... To be honest I always found killing Caesar to be one of the most satisfying moments in the game. That and I got to score some major kudos with Boone and the entire NCR. I believe the families are surely within the providence of the player. We'll try and give each casino a few choices re: a change in management. Those choices could impact the npc's or taxes etc. Would you want to work out the story line on that one if you get time. Also we probably need some plot in re: to the kings as well. I am happy to see new npcs added into the game to take over the casinos. Other than Cachino I have no problem letting S*censored* and Marjorie to run their respective casinos but maybe there could be an assassination attempt by a militant NCR group on the Courier (wanting revenge for stealing victory from the NCR) that results in these characters being killed off if it would allow for new npcs. I can imagine that would make things easier in the long run. I'll go into each casino and see what I can up with. Gommorah - I can imagine that some members of the Omertas would stage a coup during Hoover Dam and kill Cachino. I can imagine that would result with increased criminal activity in Freeside and a few prostitute murders would lead to the Courier doing a investigation into the new management at Gommorah. After dealing with the new Omerta boss (could be an offspring of Big Sal's called Little Sal) the player can choose to keep him which would see the player receiving a casino higher cut resulting from their criminal activities or choosing Carlitos as the new head of the Omertas. I can imagine that Joana will look after the hookers as the new madame but it would also be a good idea to give them a couple of securitrons at their disposal as bodyguards. Even though they disappear from the game after Bye Bye Love there is some dialogue proposing you can meet them afterwards and some additional dialogue with Joana after saving them where she says "I am happy to see you again. Carlitos and I have been living here since our escape". Perhaps the player can find them in Goodsprings happily married and use a speech check to convince them to return to Gommorah. Ultra Luxe - I always thought that Mortimer would be a loose end needing to be tied up if his plans were exposed during the quest Beyond the Beef. If you aren't keen on the assassination attempt idea I guess Mortimer could be hiding out in Freeside munching on the local hobos and had arranged for Marjorie to be poisoned by some sympathetic members of the White Glove Society who wished to add human flesh to the menu again. Alternatively if Mortimer is still around in the casino the player could choose to deal with him if he continues to dine on NCR tourists and replace him with someone who is more discreet with their cannibalism or someone who has similar views as Marjorie. The Tops - To be completely honest nothing comes to mind in regards to the Chairmen. I suppose that after dealing with Benny the place no longer has any relevance to the main game. Looking at the fallout wiki it states that the Chairmen were originally a nomadic warrior tribe and that the former singer at the Aces Theatre wanted to convince the others to leave the Strip and bring back their tribal ways until Benny had him poisoned. Maybe that's something we can work with but I have a feeling that most of the Chairmen are happy where they are now and would see the Courier as a hero after winning Hoover Dam for Vegas. I don't know nearly enough about the "Run the Lucky 38" mod as I probably should. Just scanned some of the pics, and the description. But essentially I'd like to implement (at the players discretion) opening the casino and hotel. I'd also like to implement the option to change the existing floors (improvements via caps &/or quests)..... so any suggestions you have about what should stay and what should go, would be greatly appreciated. To be completely honest I could live without most of the additional features of Run the Lucky 38 mod. It is mainly the bank, museum, kitchen, hotel suites, employees suite and some utility areas I would recommend keeping. The bank has two eyebots which transferred funds from the casino to a larger safe and had additional safes which were handy for storing items. The museum would also be a good thing to have since the casino is run by the most famous person on the Strip and would be considered as the player's trophy room. I suppose that some items could be displayed related to the original quests and the mannequins would be also come in handy for faction armors and things from other mods. Just recently I downloaded a mod with a wearable version of the Legate armor to dress a mannequin with. In addition to opening up the casino, cocktail lounge and hotel suites it would be great if there was also an option to improve the lighting in the Lucky 38 casino. I suppose that you could have robots can function as staff but it would be nice to have the option of hiring human workers too. I would be happy to employ the family of slaves that I rescued from the Legion at Cottonwood Cove. Edit: I can't seem to put up the name of the guy who replaces Benny without it being censored as a rude word on the forum. Odd. TrooperScooperMKII
The Lucky 38 reloaded is by far the best suite upgrade. He's got a teleporter, a mini securitron robo-butler, an armory with weapons walls and sorters....the penthouse could be cleaned up a bit, though. And who's to say that we can't have more floors? devinpatterson
So was lazy Sun afternoon, didn't get much done. But I did do a bit of research and I'd really like to expand the Frumentarii in the same vein as Ulysses comment of "bleeding the bear" re: the NCR. Looking over the vault wiki, wikipedia and some writings on the Frumentarii, these guys look like a mix between guerrilla warfare, terrorists, gestapo style secret police & secret service. The wikipedia cautions against believing the most outrageous claims of the Frumentarii or their successors (when the emperor) agentes in rebus. It looks like these guys could be a serious thorn in the players side since they don't fight conventionally and the securitrons simply aren't going to be equipped for this type of conflict. They're the ones that will stir the pot for rebellion, shock and panic the populace via atrocities, infiltration, destruction of infrastructure and military moral, etc etc. I think we could expand the story line greatly in this direction and it would, for the most part, sidestep the players greatest military strength (bot army).....requiring a lot of "hands on" activity from the Courier. The quest-lines would also be much more varied than normal combat, requiring some serious skills to ferret out the Frumentarii spies, prevent their acts of terror, etc Also somewhere in the wiki (can't find it at the moment) I saw Vulpes Inculta quoted as being the 4th most powerful in the chain of command. I get Caesar is 1, legate 2, who is 3?

Fairlycece
Hey Devon,You pulled me from here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1009449-offering-female-voice-overs/&do=findComment&comment=8198115 about female voice overs. I tried to do Cass and Veronica.. no go.. However I would still be willing to do some of the other, minor characters.
devinpatterson
I tried to do Cass and Veronica.. no go.. However I would still be willing to do some of the other, minor characters. No worries Fairlycece, they're a tough act to follow, but I appreciate you trying. We are badly in need of voice work though, from chatter/rumor on the strip to some new NPC's. Could you record a few lines in your natural voice when you have time? Lines;1. With Mr. House dead, what will happen to New Vegas? <worried>2. I'v heard he's called the monster of the east <fearful>3. All of the securitrons are different now. <puzzled>4. I was here during the riots, It was horrible <fearful> A big part of this mod is fixing the base game and extending the environments in a way that seems like a natural consequence of the couriers actions. So if you see anything in your game that you think should be changed, or the developing plot line that we are working on here, please join in and comment. The more gray matter we can get working on teh project the better it will be. Thanks Fairlycece
devinpatterson
So it's been ages since I'v been down in the sewers (so I don't remember much), but it seems like that would be a natural place for people to flee to during the riots. Might be good to expand the number of refugees down there. Maybe add some other stuff?
kingwilfre16
In addition, you can organize the citizens of the towns into militias who will happily have their town under your control, or help the legion or ncr take the town over
