How to edit rules in italics.

HadToRegister, for the love of god keep it to one post and stop double and triple posting. Why are you posting so many times for a response to Tannin's single post?

If you forget something and need to add something, use the edit button. Please.

I usually do edit my posts, but I've found that I keep adding something to the original post, and find that people have only read the original post and not the newly edited text, so they miss things, then I get accused of "not providing enough info"

So this is the LO for the plugins in question as LOOT puts them?

Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp

Armorsmith Extended.esp

Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp

BetterSettlers.esp

VIS-G Item Sorting.esp

and this as it should be?

Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp

Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp

BetterSettlers.esp

VIS-G Item Sorting.esp

Armorsmith Extended.esp

Also unrelated advice: Perk magazine material fix is no longer needed as its part of the UF4P.

Yea according to the author of Armorsmith extended, AE should go below VIS-G, but the minute I make a rule to do it, I get the cyclic error from the previous page that I posted in Cyan.

And I can see where anything would cause that cyclic error, and why Armorsmith Extended refuses to go below VIS-G

Thanks for the Perk Mag tip, I didn't know that UF4P had incorporated it.

Actually it should be

Better Settlers

Unique NPCS Creatures

VIS-G

AE

Eli-s Armour Compendium

But, BetterSettlers has a built in rule to load AFTER Eli's Armour Compendium (Which is fine) and AFTER Scrap Everything, (, so more like

So even this would work for me

Unique NPCs Creatures

VIS-G

AE

Eli's armor compendium

Better Settlers

But Vortex doesn't see that as an option.

The better settlers.esp is PATCHED with "No Lollygagging" merged into it, from the patch option install from Unique NPCs - An overhaul of the commonwealth as I've made clear, and posted before.

Loot rules in italics are built in - loot rules I added with be cyan

Eli Armour Compendium - loads after Armorsmith Extended.esp

Better Settlers - MoreSkinColors.esp, AzarPonyHairstyles.esp, Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp, ScrapEverything - Core.esp, Scrap Everything - Ultimate Edition.esp

Unique NPCS - Creatures and Monsters.esp - loads after Better Settlers.esp

VIS-G Item Sorting.esp - Loads after Unique NPCS - Creatures and Monsters.esp, D.E.C.A.Y.esp

Armorsmith Extended.esp - Loads after MoreAGOMBZ.esp, No Lowered Suppresor and Bayonet Range.esp, FALLOUT4WT.esp, SuperMutantRedux.esp

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now,, the problem comes when I try to put Armorsmith Extended.esp, below VIS-G Item Sorting.esp

That's when I get the cyclic error and back cycle.

Finally we're getting somewhere...So you're getting the message

Cyclic interaction detected between plugins "VIS-G Item Sorting.esp" and "Armorsmith Extended.esp". Back cycle: Armorsmith Extended.esp, Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp, BetterSettlers.esp, Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp, VIS-G Item Sorting.esp

The way to read that is:

- VIS-G Item Sorting.esp loads after Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp

- Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp loads after BetterSettlers.esp

- BetterSettlers.esp loads after Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp

- Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp loads after Armorsmith Extended.esp

- Armorsmith Extended.esp loads after VIS-G Item Sorting.esp

That is one loop or cycle. So you can get all that from the error message, the question now is, where do these rules come from:

- VIS-G Item Sorting.esp loads after Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp

- Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp loads after BetterSettlers.esp

- Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp loads after Armorsmith Extended.esp

- Armorsmith Extended.esp loads after VIS-G Item Sorting.esp

These are all your custom rules. There are 5 rules that form this cycle, 4 of them are your own, dropping any one of these would solve the cycle. The one rule you can't remove because it's in the masterlist is

- BetterSettlers.esp loads after Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp

So - is this rule unreasonable? No, it's explicitly stated on the page of the Better Settlers page:

Load Order (IMPORTANT):

<<<Eli's Armor Compendium and/or Azar's Ponytail Hairstyles (optional)>>>

<<<Any other Settler Mods>>>

BetterSettlers.esp

<<<Any Better Settler Patches that you might use from other authors>>>>

<<<Any Better Settler Optional Packs like Lollygagging, Clean face, or Light or Heavy Armor Types (optional)>>>

<<<Better Settlers Mostly Female or Mostly Male (optional)>>>

<<<CCAP MUST go here or it wont work (optional)>>>

<<<Any Better Settler Mortal or Mortal Soldier Pack must go LAST or they wont work (optional)>>>

So the one rule you didn't set yourself is a requirement.

How about your rules? I only took a quick search because this is already taking up way too much time and I think the point has already been made, but ok.

- I found no indication that VIS-G Item Sorting.esp has any interaction with Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp so why set this rule?

- I found nothing regarding Unique NPCs - Creatures and Monsters.esp having to load after BetterSettlers.esp

- I found no indication that Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp needs to load after Armorsmith Extended.esp. Actually there is a compatibility patch you should probably install instead of this rule

- I found no indication that Armorsmith Extended.esp needs to load after VIS-G Item Sorting.esp. What I did find was a post by you yourself stating:

I put VIS AFTER Armorsmith, because what's the point of having a sorting mod if the mod right after it overwrites everything.

It's never been clear WHERE Armorsmith Extended should go in the load order.

So, in conclusion: You have a cycle made up of 5 rules, 4 of them are custom rules you made yourself that are all questionable, only one is a masterlist rule and that one is based on an Authors suggestion.

Yeah, I think Vortex is doing fine here...

Is this now good enough for you? Happy?

OK, after comparing them in FO4Edit, you're right, there isn't interaction between the mods, it looks like I can let Vortex do with them what it wants.

Thanks, I needed an explanation as to why it's not working

It makes it a little easier to understand.

Is this now good enough for you? Happy?

The personal dig wasn't necessary.
