Premium Download Speed only 25% of non-premium (before)

Problem Details

Before upgrading to premium I got 1.000 kb/s

now with premium i get exactly 256 kb/s max

Speed varies from 80 to 256 kb/s, most of the time its around 140 kb/s.

 

Steam Download 5.4mb/s for comparism

 

Test download

This file loads with the expected speed: 5.4 mb/s !

 

Multiple download threads dont change anything so I leave the setting on 1.

 

I might make another free account to download 4x faster ..

 

Any tipps or tricks to download all my huge mods a little faster would be very welcome..

 

Edit: After changing my Accounts download settings from CDN to EU 2 i download with (almost) the expeted speed: 4.5 mb/s

Sounds like you've fixed the issue by choosing a different download location.

 

There's no reason why being Premium would make the CDN slower for you than a normal member, as the CDN is the same for both normal members and Premium Members except there is no download speed limit on Premium Members. Thus, it's likely if you had a normal account, your download speed would also have been slow on the CDN. It could be a momentary blip, but I don't know.

 

Either way, if you're satisfied with the speeds on the other server(s) then there's no problem here!

i have the same thing, only with supporter account. downloading speed is barely 134 kb\s and i can't change my preffered download location. what would you suggest me to do?

Me too. Its only 25 kb/s but im getting an average speed of 2.5 -3 mb/s on steam and others.

This problem is happening on non-premium accounts like mine. I have an average speed of 2.5 -3 mb/s but im only getting barely 25kb/s and that is the current speed. It was 5kb/s yesterday. This happened before a few months ago and there is still no direct fix for this.

Slow downloads from today of some reason for me to. Never been this slow since i started using Nexus.
