4GB RAM on the GPU is on the limit, especially with that (horrid, I might add) Ultra High Resolution DLC (you're better off with stuff like Hein84's Vivid series. Way more RAM-friendly, runs much smoother and even better looking than most HD content mods).

Have a go at ENBoost. Besides eliminating stutter (should you need that) the tool also fools the game into believing your system RAM is also Video RAM. Rule of thumb is amount of RAM plus amount of V-RAM, minus the amount needed by the OS. In your case that would be 16 + 4 - 3 = 17, which means you could allocate up to that amount in ENBoost's enblocal.ini file. I'd set it to 12288MB. That should cover the massive RAM spikes in FO4 and also leave enough memory for the OS and whatever runs in the background, like Anti Virus and some such...

since i don't want to trash my game because of my lack of "hardware-like expertise", i would need a little help.

i have that enblocal.ini file you mentioned before opened.... where do i change that value? at 'VideoMemorySizeMb='? It's the only logical thing to do, but for some reason i see that 'ForceVideoMemorySize=False' would not make things work because being false it won't force the memory size....

am i right? or it must stay false?

anyway it will be best to have some kind of tutorial.... could you help me with it? or point me to a good and easy tutorial?

thanks in advance

Set: ForceVideoMemorySize=True

and Set: VideoMemorySizeMb=4096

you only need to set the above to 4096, this will eliminate memory based issues, you should Not need to set it higher then this.

also windows 10 does matter quite a bit actually, it includes a lot of crapware, which are resource hogs, this effectively gives you much less resources then windows 7 would give you. not too mention it has by defualt considerably more services running, hence less resources for gaming and other activities.

so if 4096 is not enough, then set it to 8192

4096 = 4GB

8192 = 8GB

16384 = 16GB

GB = Gigabyte <-- (incase that was not ovbious)

did you disable the Ultra HD Esm btw ? (the Bethesda Ultra HD DLC)

also you do realize that bethesda made this dlc literally for a gtx 1080 and better, which is hell of a lot more powerful then the 960

ultra hd dlc = 4k textures, which means you want at least 8GB vram for an entire game being in 4k

as mentioned above, the hd texture mods on the nexus blows the ultra hd dlc out of the water, not too mention said mods greatly increase performance in comparison, and does not require a nasa grade computer

i have a feeling the dlc is causing or at least part of the issue.

however since its 100% repeatable crash, this would usually indicate mods, but looking at your mods i cannot see issues their, not too mention how very few mods you have. which then leads to hardware based issues, or windows.

can you monitor your hardware whilst playing the game, and paste what results you are getting

Monitor:

CPU, GPU and System Memory usage, as well as Temperatures

also if you want recommendations for texture mods let us know, i can recommend quite a few that will make the game look amazing. far better then the dlc and with half the requirements to run.

Okay, let's recapitulate:

Set the enblocal.ini to 12288MB.

Then deactivate/uninstall the HD DLC.

If there's still a CTD upon fast travelling to Boston Airport, then there's most probably a mod you're using that makes changes to something within the perimeter that doesn't go down well with the game. Could be added buildings or something that changes the storyline/quests involved with the area.

In any case, to be able to use the Boston Airport WorkShop, you first need to have had access to the Prydwen (which means you need to have finished the Reunions quest and confronted Kellog at Fort Hagen, after which the Prydwen appears. Before you can start that quest, however, you need to have located, first Diamond City, and second Nick Valentine, because the latter is needed to advance things).

But, to gather experience points, it's better to go to Boston Airport before the Brothers Of Steel arrive, since the place is crawling with Gouls. After the arrival of the BOS, they're all gone, supposedly eliminated by the BOS.

Since you don't have that many mods, I'd deactivate the lot and try them one by one and fast-travel to Boston Airport until you find the mod that crashes the game.
