Hi.

I would like to know how do i backup the entire game, with mods too.

Like:

I have Fallout 4 in a ssd(the OS isn't on this one).

Every time I have to format the PC i have to reinstall Fallout 4, and download all the mods again, and install the, using NMM.

Is there some way to avoid this? Like, backing up some file and everything will run nicely?

Or, unfortunately, it had to be on the hard way?

Thank you!

I have my game backed up on an external SSD. But then again, I haven't done a reformat on the main drive since 2013. Everything has been running fine since. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If you reformat your OS drive, you're still going to have to reinstall your Games, because you're wiping your Registry when you reformat and reinstall your OS.

Why do you have to reformat that much?

You can use NMM to backup your Game and Mod setup, but you'll still have to reinstall the game

NMM

Tools-----> Back up and Restore----->Create Mod Installation backup, hopefully that has an option to pick a Drive or Directory to back up to. (Obvioulsy don't pick C:\ because that will be the drive you're reformatting.

Also, just copy all your Mod Zip, 7z, rar files to an external backup disk

Also, since you have your games installed on your SSD, WHY are you reformatting your SSD GAME drive, to reinstall your OS on your C:\ Drive?

I have 5 drives in my system, if I reinstall the OS, I only reformat the C:\ drive, I don't also reformat D:\, E:\, F:\ and I:\, that would be madness.

Doing it that way, I only have to reinstall the programs, but not the data, in order to get them back into the Windows Registry so Windows will recognize them.

But yea, I haven't reformatted my drive in several years, haven't had to.
I keep it optimized with a program that automatically defrags the disk and keeps it in top shape.
