Side note: for some reason when i install SKSE64 and put the ZIP file into my vortex mod listings and click to install it disappears and is never to be found again dont know if that means its installed and thats all i need to know or what but it still refuses to work :/
HadToRegister
SKSE64 needs to be UNZIPPED to your SkyRim SE folder, NOT to a SKSE64 folder
HadToRegister
SKSE64_Loader.exe should be in the same folder as SkyRimSE.exe and SkyrimSELAuncher.exeAs long with the DLL files in the SKSe64 zip Did you even bother to read the SKSEREADME.txt in the zip file that clearly states... [ Installation ]1. Copy the .dll and .exe files to your Skyrim directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder under Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\. If you see files named TESV and SkyrimLauncher, this is the correct folder. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod. The "src" folder is only useful for programmers, most users can ignore it.2. Copy the .pex files in Data\Scripts\ into the Data\Scripts\ folder of your installation. The .pex files are needed by all users of SKSE.3. Copy the .psc files in Data\Scripts\Source\ into the Data\Scripts\Source\ folder of your installation. The .psc files are only needed if you have the CreationKit installed and intend to create or compile Papyrus scripts.4. Launch the game via running skse_loader.exe. Steam must be running before launching Skyrim. If you use a desktop shortcut to launch Skyrim normally, just update the shortcut to point to skse_loader.exe instead of TESV.exe or SkyrimLauncher.exe. I'm guessing you didn't.
WastelandAssassin
considering your 3rd image , it seems like you didn't install quite a few things correctlyso my guess is you've installed a few mods incorrectly as wellthe folders you have there shouldn't exist . their contents need to be inside your Skyrim or Skyrim\Data folders (depending on the files)so you should probably go back and properly read the installation instructions for everything you've installed thus far , otherwise you'll probably find many more issues moving onSKSE64 has a readme with very clear installation instructions in the download . please follow those
SogeKing123
@Wasteland, all of my mods have worked perfectly fine in the past im only having issues with Vortex since nexus is not being supported anymore i moved everything to Vortex and SKSE wasnt updated so i had to go update it @HadToRegister, I just tried that and it still has the error popping up and i havent had an issue with that in the past for older versions of SKSE so I didnt think i needed to do it PS. i dont know how to "reply" to comments so im just using @'s. sorry
WastelandAssassin
well I don't use Vortex and haven't tried it yet , so I can't tell if installing SKSE64 through Vortex will workbut the 3rd image shows quite a few folders that aren't supposed to be there , meaning that these mods aren't installed properlyI'm not saying you don't know what you are doing in general , but it appears like you don't know how to work with Vortex (which is fine , I don't know either) regarding NMM , while it's true that it's not being supported by the Nexus team anymore , it is still being updated and supportedit's just moved to a different location (https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases)so my suggestion is that if you are already comfortable with NMM and don't know how to work with Vortex , just get the current version of NMM and use thatgo back to installing these things the way you know , unless you are willing to start learning how Vortex worksand again , I'm not familiar with Vortex so I don't know how different it is to NMM , but my guess is that it requires some learning to properly use , and probably does quite a few things differently
SogeKing123
Well from what ive seen the vortex manager is really nice as far as mod management and its pretty simple to figure things out with it i just cant get past this point which annoyingly is the last part of what all i was trying to do but thats modding in a nutshell for me atleast, im pretty sure vortex would work with skse since it has a button to start skse instead of just skyrim and i installed skse on both vortex and did the data and data/source setup as stated so im not sure what im missing and all of my mods were installed properly and have no conflictions with eachother thankfully vortex gives a notification if something is conflicted with another
WastelandAssassin
Vortex will obviously work with the script extenders . there is no doubt that it will work (so many mods require the script extenders , no one would create a mod manager without taking this into account)what I meant is that I'm not sure you can install SKSE with Vortex , as if it was a mod . but you say you've also installed it manually , which I doubt you did correctly since it doesn't work can you upload a picture of the full folder where SkyrimSE.exe is? and maybe the Data folder as well? (change the viewing method to show as much info as possible , especially if you have a lot of extra files and folders there)I want to verify the files are where they are supposed to be , and that's the only way I can check

WastelandAssassin
okay , I have a small suggestion for you to try , it may solve the issueopen google and search how to turn off hide known extensions for your version of Windows (it's probably a bit different between versions)I looked around a bit , and people seem to say that having windows hide known extensions can cause such an issue as the file has an incomplete name and thus isn't foundcan't guarantee it'll work , but it's worth a try
