could you try setting both Vortex and SKSE64 to run as admin , and see if this changes anything?

 

honestly I really have no more ideas , as it looks like your files are in the correct locations , so I see no reason why it shouldn't work now........

i decided to not run that in admin because i dont know what that message means, ran SKSE loader.exe from my skyrim folder in admin and it looks like the game loaded up now what im not sure of is if my mods from vortex will work without starting the actual game from vortex?

well , as I said I have no idea about Vortex

the threads I found have mentioned running Vortex in admin mode , but it could be outdated advice (I really have no idea)

 

have you tried setting SKSE64 to always run as admin , and afterwards running it through Vortex? you can do that in the file properties , under the compatibility section

just not sure how you tried running it in admin mode initially , and not sure if that way would work with Vortex

again just something to try , especially since running SKSE from the folder worked for you in admin mode

Set it to run as admin every time for both vortex and SKSE, still cant find skse.exe for vortex but the game runs if i just started it from the skyrim folder itself so im not sure what else i can do

Unlike MO, you can run the game outside Vortex. I am running SKSE almost always without opening Vortex and everything works.

I believe Vortex has some documentation , I suggest you go over it

from what I read in the threads I found , Vortex is supposed to work in a way that doesn't actually require you to run the game through Vortex , just set up the mods through it

so if this is the case , as long as you can load the game with SKSE64 outside of Vortex , you should be able to run a fully modded game even with this issue

 

the easiest thing I can suggest is to install an alternate start mod with Vortex , and see if it works when you load the game through the normal SKSE loader

if so , it'll probably work with all mods , meaning that you are okay to go on

if not I really have no idea . I could try to ask someone from the team about this , maybe they can direct someone from the Vortex team to try and assist (though I'm not sure I know anyone from the Vortex team , I could try through the staff)

JOD says it works without starting from vortex so im gonna guess and assume thats how it works and i can just start the game from the SKSE in my folder or like you said make a separate shortcut for it thank you very much for helping me and if i can figure out how ill put a good word about you on your profile JOD as well

DO NOT Run Vortex as an Admin!!!

 

Tannin specifically says not to, because it can cause trouble down the road.
I had to retake ownership of my folders after running Vortex as an Admin.

In order to run SKSE from Vortex, click on DASHBOARD

 

Click ADD TOOL

 

Navigate to the SKSE64_loader.exe in your skyrim folder.
Click OK, now you should have a rectangle to the right of your SKyRim SE profile, in Vortex on the DASHBOARD.

 

NOW, here's the important part, you need to click the Three vertical Dots in the rectangle for SKSE64, and pick MAKE PRIMARY.

Now, whenever you start SkyRim SE from Vortex using the "Play" button, it will run SKSE64_Loader.exe because you made it PRIMARY.
