LokiX21
So I'm assuming that it has something to do with Vortex as I don't recall ever having this problem with NMM, but for whatever reason... whenever I add on Foster XBL'sf(or even OperatorCactus's) hot fix file after the main Nock2Tip file it causes a problem where the Nock2Tip.esm reportedly gets disabled which in turn causes a dependency issue with the Nock2Tip.esp Not sure if this detail is important or not, but when I watch to see what happens to the Nock2Tip bsa/esm/esp vortex_lnk files within the Vortex > TESV Mods > Installs folder as either of the aforementioned fix/patch files are installed... the later installation removes the .vortex_lnk portion of the file names for each of the bsa/esm/esp files within the original Nock2Tip folder.Any thoughts, insight, and/or fixes to how to fix/prevent that from happening? Thanks in advance for any/all help. *Edit - This is happening with the Legendary edition of the regular (non-SE) version of Skyrim. LokiX21
Same thing is now happening with the USLEEP files within Vortex's Install folder whenever I try to load up RS Children. Anyone have an idea as to why this is happening, and/or how I can get Vortex to stop leaving off the .vortex_lnk portion of the USLEEP files (and in turn causing the missing masters error) whenever it starts the "Deploying" phase of installing RS children? skyline45
I'm having similar behavior in Fallout 4 with the Looks Menu Customization Comp mod and trying to apply their HD Black Face Fix, but no.... nothing I do is working. I really tried to give Vortex a shot, and really like what I saw. But the lack of being able to overwrite simple texture files is a game breaker for me.... Moving back to NMM... there goes an entire day wasted...

EX: Mod A is installedYou install Mod B, which is supposed to overwrite Mod A's textures. In order to make sure Mod B overwrites Mod A's textures you do this... IN THE MODS TAB... You click that weird icon (robot icon, w/e the hell it is) for Mod B and drag it to the other texture mod (weird icon) and release, now a box pops up with the title MOD B with a dropdown right below the name that has the options"Must load before", "Must load after", "Requires", "Can't be loaded with" Pick "Must load after" Now Mod B's textures will load AFTER Mod' A's textures, essentially overwriting them. Mind you this has nothing to do with the Esps in the Plugins Tab, the Mods tab is for picking which BSAs, BA2s etc get priority over each other. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that, because that's how I've been using Vortex)

While I cannot address the particular Fallout 4 issue raised here about the HD Black Face Fix (I don't have it installed), I can say that I have never had any problems with Vortex in doing simple texture file overwrites. I've been using Vortex exclusively for the past seven months to manage Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Skyrim SE. I have numerous texture overwrites, none of which are problematic, and none of which were difficult to set up. In this thread, you may want to check out HadToRegister 's post about how to set up texture overwrites in Vortex. The post contains very helpful information.
