how can I have Fallout 4 downloaded and (sort of) working without this file that everyone seems to take for granted? Every time I look this up in the forum its always "solved!" "awesome, thxs for help!" "life-saver, cheers!" but every solution starts with "Simply find your Fallout 4.ini file..." I HAVE NO FALLOUT 4.INI FILE!

The other weird thing it does is when I start the game and try to access the mods menu from the main menu it asks for an email, but when I get to the "@" it goes weird and says it "cannot parse...". Its like Ive opened another sub menu somehow by trying to type my email address. What the hell is going on?

First question would be: did you check in your appdata section of your Windows User.

#2 Did you run the main game launcher without anything else, as that will make the files that the game needs.

An example for #1: C:\users\Your User Name Here\AppData\Local\Fallout4\ . This is where some of your ini files should be. Others are in: C:\Users\You Windows User Here\My Documents\My Games\Fallout4\ .

Where did you download it from?

Because it shouldn't be asking you for an email.

Bethnet asks for your email since you have to register on their website to use their crappier mods. Bethnet mods and mods using a mod manger program do not play well with each other either, at least I have never got them to work right.
