wfandrews
Pretty much what the title said. I was following the instructions to install and run Vortex and got to the part where it told how to import mod lists from NMM. The illustration showed a toolbar opposite Dashboard which I do not have. I am managing SSE in Vortex if that makes a difference, also I am not playing the game at the moment so I only have the unofficial patch installed. I have a clean save and can start the game with SKSE64. That is the reason I chose that game to manage first in Vortex as I have just the one mod installed and have not started a new game so if something goes wrong I have not lost anything. I do have 116 mods in my NMM mod list but only the one is activated.

HadToRegister
If you're talking about the tools section in the dashboard, those tools won't appear until you add them yourself.Otherwise, try turning on ADVANCED MODE under Settings.
wfandrews
I was on Nexus wiki reading the guide "Migrating to Vortex from another mod manager" and after selecting a game to manage it said to head to the Mods section. In the illustration of that it showed a toolbar opposite dashboard which among it's options besides "Install from file" , "check for mod updates", "categories", and others is "Import from" which is the tool I am supposed to use to import my mod list from the game I am managing. After re-reading that I realize I may have not been on the mods section, so I will change my question to; how do I get to the mods section from where I am? Never mind, I am an idiot. I found the "mods' option to click on to go to the mods page and there was the toolbar.
AugustaCalidia
Open Vortex. On the left-hand side of the UI you will see a variety of selections which includes "Mods" with a little wrench icon beside it. Click on that to open the mods page. The toolbar you seek is at the top of that page. Please note that the import function requires you to select a game to manage before that function will work. E.g., if you want to import Skyrim mods, then you first need to select Skyrim to manage.
wfandrews
Thank you for your replies. Will reward you by bothering you with another question. I have been setting up FNV with Vortex as I was about to start another game with it anyway. After downloading some mods I got this in my mods page for certain mods. For MTUI and The Mod Configuration Menu after installation a red mark saying they conflict and drag and drop to define dependency. This also happened with NMCs Texture Packs medium 1 and 2 and NMCs patch for them. Do not really know what they mean by "dependency". For instance MTUI and Mod Configuration Menu, why would they be dependent on one another? If they mean that they overwrite some aspects of one another depending on when they load I can understand that. But if they want me to decide which mod wins in a conflict and I prefer MTUI should I drag MTUI to MCM or MCM to MTUI? And what about NMCs Texture Packs, a mod I consider essential for all my profiles? How do they conflict? The three are dependent on one another, you must install all three or you are probably going to break your game.

The three are dependent on one another, you must install all three or you are probably going to break your game. The red lightning bolt indicates that there is a file conflict. This means one or several mods are making changes to the same files. In those cases you need to decide which mod should "win" the conflict by going last. You can also resolve these conflicts on an individual file level. This wiki article covers the details and might help to clear things up for you: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Managing_File_Conflicts
wfandrews
I will read the link you posted although I fail to see how "NMCs Textures NV Medium Pack Part 1 of 2 FOR NMM", "NMCs Textures NV Medium Pack Part 2 0f 2 FOR NMM", and "NMC New Vegas Patch for ALL Sized packs" conflict with one another. Although it may be that they were made for NMM that is confusing Vortex. I read the link and got rid of those annoying red marks. In my opinion calling these "conflicts" is very poor terminology. To say a patch is conflicting with the two mods or mod it is supposed to patch is just plain silly. I can only imagine the plethora of red marks if I used Vortex to mod Skyrim with it's many patches to make mods work together. I feel that LOOT does a decent job of sorting load order although it is true that you might need to reorder some mods according to the mod authors suggestion. And you have Wrye Bash to merge those patches so they work well together. I feel that calling it a conflict when it is supposed to alter the file in question is confusing. Especially when you are talking about a mod that does not even have a plugin. I would hope in later versions of Vortex you would refine the parameters of this feature if not remove it completely. Deleted48081078User
I could very well be missing something I really shouldn't, but I honestly can't find this toolbar for the life of me, I swear it used to be on the dashboard, but now I'm hearing about it being in the mods section, which despite rummaging through, has gotten me nowhere; if someone could give me some more specific directions I'd be greatful. (I believe it first disappeared after deleting a profile, but I could be wrong.)
