Is there a mod that stops your companions from shooting you with Ice Spikes?

Looking for something that will stop Serana (and other mages) from repeatedly hitting me with ice spikes while I'm trying to carve up the bad guys. Don't really know if it's actually doing any damage, but those huge blue spikes are REALLY annoying.

Don't get in there way, be aware of your companion/s positions and position yourself accordingly, if being hit by there spikes is such a problem for you. or hell if they themselves are powerful just let them take care of your enemies. it feels like you are a high born lord when you have 3+ companions rush your enemies and butcher them while you casually walk in and loot this chest over here and not get hit at all and just keep on walking without ever having to even draw your noble blade from its sheath. let the men deal with the rabble i say.

If you use Extensible Follower Framework you can remove spells from your followers, and teach them other ones.

If you are still using Ultimate Follower Overhaul I remember there was an option to set your followers to be passive until attacked, which could help mitigate some of the annoyance.

The last alternative is that you can use Tesedit and edit the ESP file and remove icespike spell from the character.

Edit: But yeah I hate the ice spike spell also. It the silliest looking spell in the game cause there is just a just ice spike sticking out of your head... like someone had a giant ice spike like that in there body, they should obviously be dead... it like taking a 20 mm flak cannon round to the head.

Have you tried a search for "Friendly Fire"?

Yep, but every "friendly fire" mod I've seen seems to be directed at you not hurting your followers and/or your followers (assuming you're using one of the multi-follower mods) not hurting each other. Not sure those involve the PC.

Wow. That's helpful advice. Because when I'm playing a fighter who's directly engaging the enemy, that means the mage follower is likely *behind* me somewhere. This isn't exactly turn-based combat, and even when you play in third person your camera angle generally doesn't give you all that great of a battlefield overlook.

Unfortunately, one of my followers has a custom AI that doesn't work and play well with the various "follower control" mods, so that's not a complete option. May have to follow your theory of some creative editing.
