CaptainShadowblade
I'm sorry, Nexus developers, if I come off as ranting or seeming to scream at you, which is not my intention, but I can't handle Vortex. It's gotten way too confusing way too fast. I understand that you're trying new things, but there's a limit as to how much can be dumped onto a person to figure out. As much as I would love to complement you on a new idea for the mod management system, which I kind of am doing, I don't have that much praise for it. Personally, I find that the simple Nexus Mod Manager that was much easier to understand, and therefore, easier to operate. Now I know that there is SOME USE for the vortex that (personally) I think was desperately needed. Some of the games, like Fallout 3 for example, didn't let you/never had a clear system of deleting old saves, and Vortex solved that problem. But in terms of simple to understand mod management, I think Vortex pails in comparison to the old NMM. My rule of thumb is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it ain't need replacing, don't try to." And NMM doesn't need replacing. If you're not going to continue supporting NMM, I understand, but just know that Vortex just isn't right for me, yet. And I understand that Vortex is in BETA, but if the problem I just outlined continues to persist, it may force newcomers to the nexus away do to the confusion. Sincerely,Captain_Shadowblade
HadToRegister
Well, too bad you didn't spend any time to RTFM for Vortex. Also, too bad that you didn't bother to read where you can still download NMM by clicking on the DOWNLOAD VORTEX button. But hey, it's better to just not read any FAQS, tutorials, watch videos, and just blindly try a program for a couple of minutes and complain because you refused to spend time learning it. sopmac45
@ OP ...... if the opinion was from somebody who has been reading, investigating, watching videos, asking questions, applying suggestions provided by the dev team and older Vortex's users, then your opinion will be very valid. But since you have not spend the time to do anything of the above, then it is another opinion of a new user that lack the discipline of reading. I prefer reading which transfer into knowledge and I really hate ignorance !!
BigBizkit
Hi, We understand that Vortex might not be for everyone. That being said, I am afraid you do not provide much information as to what exactly it is you found too hard to understand.Ideally, we want Vortex to be accessible to veteran modders and newcomers alike - that is what we aim for. Understanding what it is that seemed confusing or unclear to you might go a long way in us achieving that goal. If there was something in particular, did you try finding an answer to your questions in our documentation that can be accessed from within Vortex? (or here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7060326-vortex-help-center-faq-documentation/) It would be crucial for us to know if the answers to your questions are not provided in our documentation thus far, as it would give us an indication as to what we would need to add. Thank you.
Kregen
I tend to agree that at first sight vortex looks a bit daunting, as it does not look familiar. Having said that the forum has plenty of information to help new users to get started and specific questions can be asked if your problem is not in the current FAQ.
