so you post up your difficulties and a load of falsehoods, get some help and then cry the whole "condescending" thing? basically you just wanted to cry about being forced to use something you're not being forced to use? how confusing.

much love, my mixed up, cry-arsing friend. i hope you figure out what it is you're trying to do.

You really are an unfriendly individual. I apologize for bothering you so deeply. Good luck with the bitter attitude.

Okay here's a great idea for everyone.

Stop. Trying. To. Use. A. New. Manager. When. Your. Game. Currently. Works. Fine.

Really tey new managers when you are doing a full reinstall then you won't have to deal with these issues.

As for my use of 'push'. Maybe it was hyperbole, but it wasn't fallacy. They replaced Download NMM with Download Vortex, started making videos about switching, etc.. feels like a bit of a push to get people to switch to me. Either way, you have soured me to continuing this discussion, so I am going to step away.

Yet your Hyperbole was actually Fallacy, because if you had even bothered to do some 'research', (which involved ONE whole mouse-click, and scrolling a tiny bit), you'd realize that what you just said is untrue.

All it took was Clicking on the INSTALL Vortex button, and Scrolling down the page, something you couldn't even be arsed to do, so instead, it was easier for you to spread misinformation, because that's much easier to do than actually put a modicum of effort into anything.

The screenshot is directly from the page you're brought to after you click INSTALL VORTEX BUTTON, after scrolling down the page a bit, and was mentioned in the News Article about Vortex, after scrolling down the page a bit, but you obviously didn't read that either.

Install Vortex or NMM

I just recently tried to setup Vortex and so far I am annoyed that it claims my NMM configuration is corrupt and will not let me import a list of mods that it obviously can see. NMM is running fine, so idk what corruption it is talking about. Looks like I will have to re-download a large number of mods, install, and configure them before I can get back to actually playing the game. Because of this, I have shelved Vortex and continue to use NMM.

Until I can gracefully switch over to Vortex from NMM; I don't consider it very good. Maybe I will try Mod Organizer.

You didn't really read what I was saying, instead you made assumptions.

I never asked for help.

If I wanted help I would have gone to the issues tracker.

I stated that I had errors trying to switch and that my decision was to stay with NMM and look into MO.

Oh, please.. that is quite a high horse you have there. You may have believed you were being helpful, but if you left the snide remarks out it would have been taken in a better light. You started off your dialog with me by belittlement through implying I don't know how to research something. You even suggested that I somehow believed the application as being spiteful. Now you are whining and moaning that somehow I am asking you for help. Hint: I didn't Next time don't jump straight to treating someone like a child and calling it 'helpful'.

Also, just because someone gets a little bristled by something you wrote to them doesn't mean you should go on full-attack. A simple 'didn't mean it that way' could have corrected the dialog at the start, but instead you doubled-down on childish name-calling.

And perhaps someone doesn't understand what using a "beta" version of software means?

Among other things, it means being willing to put in the work to figure things out. Otherwise, one should wait for the v1.0 release.

I had the same attitude toward vortex because it was also telling me my NMM import was corrupt. Then one day I decided to switch between profiles on NMM (I was using the newest build, not the one on the nexus) and it fell flat on it's face and didn't get up. Completely screwed up everything because it couldn't handle disabling a bunch of mods cleanly. I was forced to do a clean install of the game and all the mods, so I decided to switch to vortex.

After watching the vids to learn how to sort plugins and deal with conflicts I had vortex going within a day or so and everything is working better than it was with NMM. I have stuff in the game that I didn't realize was missing before (thanks to the conflict resolution features) and I'm not having nearly as much problems with disabled or uninstalled mods leaving remnants. I have about 240 mods on my FO4 build and not a single issue. I can switch mod profiles and it will disable and enable everything without having a coronary like NMM did.

Also now using it for State of Decay.

I wish they'd add Stalker mod support (if that's possible).

This should be the first paragraph for the intro to literally every mod manager.

And it holds true for adding a bunch of new mods as well. If everything is working, either leave it alone or do a full backup(both game and mod manager) before changing things.

I've learned that the hard way both in terms of adding new "harmless" mods, and updating NMM(not even switching).

Just did a clean install and looking over Vortex, it certainly looks to be an improvement over classic NMM. The visual lines between mod conflicts is especially handy. Hunting down conflicts has always been my biggest irk with mods.
