Well, vamps and werewolves have always been a fad, thing is, things just seem stupider today because people are running out of good ideas. Personally, I'd like the new dlc since it might make them worth playing. I just hope that it's going to work with belua sanguinare *crosses fingers*

Why popular? One word "Twilight". I guess the game makers must think if they add whats popular they will attract a whole new group of gamers to the game.

Some reason I envision the development team sitting in a conference room and one saying, "Lets do an expanded storyline to Skyrim to address some of the things that were left unfinished in the original game. It will be a series of interesting and complex quests that immerse the player in a whole new gaming experience...... Naw, just kidding, lets add vampires, it'll be easy to do and we'll make a bunch of money."

The new DLC won't be perfect, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. I've always wanted to play a Vampire and to be honest I hadn't had much reason to. Same with werewolves.

Anyway it's a shame to hear you're disappointed in it already, but I guess you can always look forward to the next DLC.

My character is currently a werewolf but only because I like that I don't level as fast. I don't think I've ever used the abilty other than checking it out. I started to change into a vampire and nixed it as soon as I knew what was happening. So anyway I guess I'm not really sick to death of them as much as I just ignore them (including movies).

Zombies however... I am sick to death of.

I said more or less this a while ago and was somewhat ridiculed for suggesting it, but I still maintain it's true.

They're pushing for an entry into the teen-girl (and middle aged cat lady) market.

I am really tired of that leftover lycanthropy bug in the game AFTER I cured myself on that one quest. I still get the guard comments about fur in my ears and howling dog at my house I hate it. The vampirism quest in oblivion ruined that game for me. I just ended up using console command to get rid of it and missed the whole quest for the cure because it was so lengthy and annoying. Thankfully now you can just cure yourself at a shrine or with a potion of cure disease but warewolf bugs will infect you forever in skyrim:-( I really hope that after this crap dlc they make the next dlc another province in the game world or what they could do is each major DLC could be another province added on and minor dlc is strung between what is already there. Yeah, unfortunately I love the stock game and have put a ton of hours into it, but I have almost zero interest in this DLC if it doesn't add more than these two factions we keep hearing about.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. A Vampire and Werewolf DLC is only good for people who WANT to play as those things.
