sentinelgundam
Note: I tested Skyrim SE before modding the s#*! out of it. At this point it has SSKE and the game refuses to budge even though SSKE is the primary and I'm hitting the play button, nothing happens. I launch it the normal way by clicking the SSE launcher and brings up the menu, play game... nothing. Forcing the game via admin in the folder briefly brings up Skyrim SE in the task manager for a few seconds and then it scurries away to an unknown place. I'm not getting any error codes or pop ups stating any problems.
HadToRegister
Are you using SKSE64 with SSE? because you keep typing SSKE, or are you trying to use SKSE with SkyRim SEBecause SKSE64 is for Skyrim SE, and SKSE is for Oldrim
sentinelgundam
Sorry for not being more specific, yes its SKSE64. I'm a bit dyslexic.
HadToRegister
So....you've done all this... Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe VortexDashboard------->Add tool------>Navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\skse64_loader.exe, highlight the skse64_loader.exe then click OK, then click the three vertical dots and pick "Make Primary"And when you click the Play Button on the game in the Vortex interface, or the Play button next to SKSE64 in the tool section and you get the window that closes and doesn't do anything. Is Skyrim set to run in Admin Mode or any compatibility mode? Is Skyrim set to run in Admin Mode or any compatibility mode?I said that I have it in and made it the primary. I don't get the window to pop up unless I go to the actual folder and try to run as admin which it then does as you say. Otherwise I just get Skyrim SE to briefly appear in Task Manager before it vanishes. I don't have my Skyrim set to do anything special. No special launch options in steam, etc etc. I just ran LOOT and it couldn't find any incompatibilities or errors of note that would prevent the game from starting. sentinelgundam
OK I found the issue, primary cause of the no booting was some mods that allegedly been made compatible with SSE but were not. Frankly I'm surprised LOOT or Vortex didn't have anything to say about them.
BigBizkit
A possible reason for SE not launching at all is when bsa archives from Oldrim have not been repacked properly for SE. The engine, unfortunately, provides no feedback regarding that, other than simply refusing to launch the game while a plugin referencing an "Oldrim bsa" is enabled. This isn't something LOOT or Vortex can pick up on, as the problem lies with the compression/packaging, not the plugin data.
