Vortex and NMM

I tried vortex and as much as I think it has a nice look and potential i was unable to import my NMM as vortex says it can not validate the archives.

I am sure that there is an explanation for this but NMM works fine for me and I get no issues or errors with it.

I also notice Vortex says something about a downloads cap if your not a premium member ?

Just discussing some thoughts...

Thanks

Well You appear as a Premium member ? So how would you know if nothing changed ?

as for Vortex I like how it looked etc, I just do not understand why it says it can not validate NMM archives when NMM is working fine.

I meant that there's a download cap for non-premium members, there always has been, but apparently the author has added that notification to Vortex.

An admin/dev for Vortex has already mentioned in another thread that one of the things broken about NMM is that it doesn't log its installs properly. So I believe that's why in a number of cases the import will not work, or will not import properly and result in a broken game.

If NMM is fine for you, you can stick to it. But if you plan on migrating to something with ongoing support, whether it's MO2 or Vortex, my advice is to start clean. You'd want a clean Data folder too since NMM doesn't know how to uninstall stuff properly.

I'm assuming Vortex doesn't like it if games are installed in a drive other then C:\. reason I assume this is because every mod I've installed with Vortex doesn't show up in-game. Vortex shows the mods on the mod tab but the esp's do not show in the plugin's tab unless I install them manually. Vortex is setup properly with the correct drive letters.

If you want to do HardLInks, then the MOD STaging Directory needs to be on the same drive as the games
