Drewalc Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Just downloaded Vortex to mod the witcher 3. When I try to download a mod with the "Vortex" button, I only get a message from Windows saying I need a new app to open an nxm file type, I cant select any apps and there's no option to look anywhere other than the store. Anyone know how to fix this?
HadToRegister Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 I answer this at least 10 times a day, here goes 11. Where would you look to change a SETTING in a program?Probably under the SETTINGS tab yea? That's the first place I check with any new program to see exactly what things I will be able to change in a program.
sopmac45 Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 I was just about to post the same screenshot HadToRegister .... 10 times today and more than 200 in the last month ... you are amazing !! @ OP .... the above screen posted by HadToRegister does not means that you need to click on the tab MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD ... the Handled turned to the ON position means that whenever you download a mod from Nexus game mod page, it will be downloaded to Vortex automatically but you have to install the mod and Enable it manually and if you have Auto-Deploy set to ON, your mod will be deployed automatically after Enabling the mod. Make sure that you also have Auto-Sort set to ON in the Plugins Section so Vortex will sort your load order automatically.
Drewalc Posted November 3, 2018 Author Posted November 3, 2018 Might want to make sure that actually fixes the issue before the unnecessary passive aggressiveness comes out. Same problem I had still exists.

You may have to Turn on the NXM file association in vortex, and turn it off, close Vortex, then reopen it and turn it on again for it to "Stick", I had this problem because NMM wouldn't relinquish the NXM file association.
