Deleted28278925User
For 5 days now, Vortex keeps crashing when trying to enable or deploy mods. I completely deleted Vortex and did a fresh install. Vortex is still doing the same thing and you know that .10 is NOT stable for most people. I have been trying to install fresh downloads of all of my mods and still get this issue.
Grestorn
What exactly do you mean by "crashing"? What's happening exactly?
Deleted28278925User
Vortex will not enable/deploy any mods, then I get the "error/bug report" page where I can list what actions I was doing when it crashed. And, it will only allow me to quit Vortex. I should add that what I mean by deleting mods/files, is that mods like FNIS, that were enabled for a day are now disabled and/or say they are missing master files. If I try to re-enable the mod, to include a fresh download of the mod, Vortex will not enable/deploy and crashes again. Sad part is, now I can't even play the game in vanilla, as when I hit play it only goes back to the load screen. My only solution now is to completely remove Skyrim and Steam and reinstall both, which will result in me losing thousands of hours of game play. Guest deleted34304850
why do you think you need to uninstall steam and your games? that's an amazing, and completely wrong assumption.if your game won't load and you are determined to go back to a default game - all you need to do is validate the integrity of your local files via steam and delete or empty a couple of directories in your game folder.everything else is pure blind panic. Deleted28278925User
Did that and the game still won't open in vanilla, have deleted the game and re-installed via Steam, and it still won't open a vanilla game.
HadToRegister
.10 is NOT stable for most people. I Which is why we've been telling people to roll back to 0.16.
Deleted28278925User
I've read a lot of the posts, but not all, and this is the first that I've known about rolling back to .08. I will try that to see if it works. Thanks.

Hopefully it'll worked, it's worked for others.I don't know why, but it seems about 50/50 that 0.16.10 works for some, and not for others, but so far rolling back to .08 for the people who have problems with .10 seems to work. Deleted28278925User
Ok, it worked for awhile, then it quit downloading mods from the site. I rebooted my computer and I have 15 mods that are now disabled, including Caliente, Docs, Docs and screenshots, FNIS and many more... same thing happened with .10 and I bet if I enable all of these 15 mods they will either crash vortex and/or they will appear disabled next time I log into vortex. As I re-enable these disabled "mods", they are 98% involved with FNIS in some way Also, over 1/2 of my plugins were also disabled. I'm going back to NMM, until this Piece of Shi.... Vortex is fixed and finalized.. this is still in Alpha stage, not even close to Beta..
