the solution is documented in a few places in these forums. why don't you try to search for it and see what you can find?

not being a dick, just telling you to do some work on your own, rather than spamming your whinging over all kinds of posts.

delete the masterlist.yaml, purge. deploy. done.

how hard is that?

Having same issue. Only results from my searches brought me here... Is there any step by step or in depth guide to remedy this issue? "failed to load master-/user list" Edit: I think removing the Userlist.yaml MAY have fixed it.. Need to play more to find out. Removing the Masterlist.yaml deleted my load order as well as the loot rules I set up and reset the load order according to Loot without my rules

Yes, deleting your "userlist.yaml" will fix it, because that's where the problem lies. If you want to keep your rules and load order, however, you will need to open the file with a text editor and try to find the error there. In my case the error was the bashed patch repeating two times in one of the rules. Removing the line that's causing the error will fix the problem. The error will most likely be under the rule you've set up last.

Would it be helpful to look in your "userlist.yaml" first rather than in your "masterlist.yaml?" The userlist is a much smaller list, and it's very easy to spot a problem entry. If there's not a problem there, then you could move on to the larger list.

I in fact made a mistake and wrote "masterlist" instead of userlist. The error is within the userlist file and this is the way to do it. Duly noted, thank you.
